I got an email from Mambos today, in reply to an email I sent a while ago, and I had sent another one more recently
She commented on the problems I mentioned about the staff, but she did say no glass bottles are allowed on public beaches anywhere in Ibiza now,
She told me to book a table at Mambos there is a minimum spend of 50 euros per person for a regular table, or 70 euros for a seafront table !!!!!!!
She did say due to our concerns if we wanted to go we could pay for the regular table, and they would upgrade us for free to the sea front tables due to our concerns,
seems a lot of money to just go and see the sunset for a an hour or soo,

4 euro bottle of vodka in Eroski, 2 bottles of coke and a comfortable rock is all you need! 8)

All these stories about Mambos, doesn't seem like a place you can just pop into for a quick drink anymore. There's a few benches along the promenade if there's no comfortable rocks.

I know, I thought you could buy a jug of sangria for just under 30 euros,to share and sit enjoy the sunset
Think this minimum spend might put people off as well now

Must have changed from last year then. We had the table right in front of the dj booth for sunset and a while after and there was no minimum spend.

we had a table in june for the sunset right on the sea front and only one of us ordered one drink! nothing was said to us, staff were really nice and spent every night on the rocks drinking and was never given any bother or told to move. seems like lots of exaggeration, lots of rumours, and one or two members of uptight staff, other than that, mambos is as good as ever in my opinion.

Dear Heather,
Thank you for your message. I'm not 100% sure who will be playing on the 11th of September but it is a Sunday and we will be having a Cadenza Vagabundos pre-party (for the night of that name in Pacha later that evening!). I don't know which DJ will be there but we have had Luciano, Reboot and Lee Van Dowski all come on that night before.
We would be happy if you could join us for your husband's birthday!
I know that we have had some negative comments about the beaches in the last few weeks, and while I am not there personally (I'm already busy waitressing at night!) to see how people are treated, all I can say is how dispicable some people leave the beach after sunset (broken bottles, trash everywhere). I know that there is no reason for anyone to be rude about going on the rocks, but it is illegal to drink from glass containers anyway in public now in San Antonio. Anyway, I'm really sorry if something bad happened but I can't really comment as I wasn't there and always thrive to give the best possible service with my teammates!
Back to reservations, Sunday is a good day to come, but if you like Pete Tong, you may want to come on the Friday as well!! He is back in Pacha this year and does almost all of our Friday night pre-parties.
Let me know what night you are interested in. We generally ask for a minimum spend of 50EUR per head for a regular terrace table and 70EUR per head for a seafront, but we could maybe upgrade you to the seafront if you reserve a regular terrace one or something like that (for all the troubles caused!!).
Best regards,
Elodie Wright

On their facebook page they confirmed thats its 50E a head deposit per person, for normal tables and 70E, for VIPwhich is then deducted from your total bill,
I did think about going down to see for myself,if things have changed badly with their staff, but Im not paying 50E to sit and watch the sunset for an hour, !!!
I,ll stick to other bars along sunset strip
Surely this is expensive when its cheaper to get in some of the clubs

Or like others have said. A trip to the supermarkets and sit on the rocks. Alot cheaper :)

I could get a nice bottle of champagne a lot cheaper, and a couple of subway sandwiches,

but just realised you cant do this anymore, as no glass bottles are allowed on the streets or beaches in San An now grrrr
