Cadenza Ibiza: Hobo Techno!!

To elaborate - by ridiculous I meant so packed you can't dance properly (I'm not sure how compared to Guetta and Swedes as I would never go too either of those nights) In all fairness when Reboot was on I danced pretty flat out but I was squished, when Luciano came on there was no chance but to just bob up n down - I like to express myself through dance I have plenty of years ahead when my knees will be f**ked to bob up and down.

DJDaveThatcher - you and your mates must have been one of the 5 Brits that were there, although I'm not against foreigners just hoards of Italians can get a bit too much

As for La Plage we had plenty of money but we were told to arrive by 6 p.m and drinks are 36 or 38 euros (can't remember) for 2 and Mojitos are drank in one mouthful (the vodka limon was pretty strong in all fairness) Drinks at Ushuiaia were quite a lot cheaper.

With hindsight I wouldn't have bothered with Pacha and would have gone later to La Plage but then I still would not have known they were letting people in after 6.

Music was 100% quality at both events

As for sunny and metropolitan events.. the sun don't shine indoors dude and if you are a flat out party animal you would appreciate a cold wind or a bit of rain lol

La plage must've been immensely expensive if Ushiasa seemed cheap by comparison.

Plus, I really hate Manchester.

Mojito in Ush was 10e or 12e at the most on the night of the cocoon afterparty in La Plage it was 18e, a vodka limon in la plage was 15e. The security in la plage was a bit silly as they wouldnt let us go out to get more money, i said that i would leave my friends and go alone as we want to spend lots of money but they would not let me.. so why bother with a wristband? people from the fiesta club pdb could come and go as they pleased... I'm kinda glad they didn't let me now though because we left and went to get our free drinks at the don toni then went to ushuiaia... I sneaked back into la plage later in the evening but unfortunately missed Carl Craig. It's easy to sneak in but I did have a wristband on so only fair.

... they change venues for the beach party anyway and don't think it's weekly? Maybe try the Sunday pre-party before Pacha...

I went to this on Sunday just gone. I didn't know much about Luciano as his stuff isn't what I listen to, but my mate really wanted to go and I agreed. We had a good night, but spent a large amount of time in one of the smaller rooms where a guy called Willie Graff played a blinding set that I can only describe as tech house mixed with funky techno... we went into the main room for Luciano quite late on, about 5.45 (he was meant to be on at 4.30 but we were having too much fun in the other room) and his first 20 mins were really good, it then descended into a rather monotonous track merging into another but the crowd seemed to like it. It was very busy, almost sardine in a tin like but I haven't been to FMIF or Swedes so I can't compare with them. He did finish with a classic (Ultra Nate - Free) but that wasn't enough to make up for the last hour, which was pretty dull.

See it was Dietz and Reboot who i'd have seen rather than Luciano, Mike.

Willie Graff has had two big ups this week, so I'm gonna try and see him when we're there at end of Sept.

cadenza extra party closing

Cadenza's ‘Vagabundos' night at Pacha has turned in to the success story of Ibiza 2010. As if to emphasise the point, Sundays at Pacha witnessed Luciano revive his Lucien-N-Luciano moniker for the first time in five years, there were live sets by Dantom Eeprom, Guillaume and the coutu Dumont, Maaya Nidam, Ryan Crosson, Martinez, Marc antona, Stimming Live, Stacey pullen, D Julz, Reboot and Luciano himself, mad cap performances by Parisian trio dOP, Ibizan exclusives and first time visits from the likes of Moodyman and Theo Parrish and Detroit techno wizardry supplied in abundance by Carl Craig. Not to mention revered sets from the likes of Dj Koze and LoSoul, as well as Cadenza's own proficient regulars such as Michel Cleis, Robert Dietz, Ernesto Ferreyra, Mirko Loko, Cesar Merveille, Dani Casarano, Lee van Dowski. As first seasons go, that's a pretty monumental list of talent right there.
House and techno didn't simply find a new home this season. At Pacha it thrived, garnering Cadenza a vast new fan bass in the process, as well as more than appeasing their existing ones. With all this in mind, Cadenza are adding one final date to their summer residency at Pacha, with the closing party now penciled in for the 3rd October. Originally due to finish the week earlier, the added night won't simply act as a thank you to all the fans that have followed Cadenza all the way from beach parties to Pacha, but also commemorates all the hard work that's gone in to making the night such a runaway success since its beginnings way back in June.
The line up will for this special, will be soon announced.

I don't follow Resident Advisor that much (again, more of a question of my own taste not really matching what they write / review) but Willie Graff has been mentioned by them quite a few times, so yes, by all means, check him out.

The people that were playing before Luciano came on in the main room (either Diets or Reboot) were actually pretty good I thought.
