Good or bad?
bad
the only veggetables I don't like are cabbage and chards. yuk
No... but in Russian, the word for cabbage is slang for money (specifically, dollars)has anyone ever heard of someone being referred to affectionately as "cabbage"?
what about in a nice creamy coleslaw silvia?
coleslaw would seem kinda pointless without it.

it was a number of things mark, i was eating a roast beef roll with coleslaw in it, and all the cabbage was poking out of the side, threatening to fall on my desk. which made me think, I wonder what others think of cabbage?
if you must know, Im a little undecided. some times the thought of it makes me grimace, whereas other times, like when you get that fancy purple stuff in salad packs, i quite like to pick out the cabbage from the rest of the salad, and crunch away at it.
a (big fat) guy in my mates IT class used to bring one in stuffed down his pocket in his trenhcoat, and sit and munch it like an apple during IT classes.

Thats what I like doing, I prefer that to "normal" cabbage

I get the feeling that you are questioning whether or not the cabbage deserves the "third rate" foodstuff rating it deserves, or whether indeed the cabbage could be as widely accepted as the apple or even a trendy as "rocket". If only it could have a makeover and good PR campaign.
Although i believe the cabbage's potential is mighty, i feel it will always dwell in the bottom of the fridge alongside the tomato paste and the marrow. (although you would need a fck off "amercian style" fridge to fit in a full marrow.)
You see the cabbage has too many negative associations "smells like rotten cabbage" "you cabbage" is an insult (not a term of endearment) and cabbage soup was feed to urchins in work houses when they ran out of porridge.
But I wish you well in your support of the cabbage as, i believe the buffalo tomato was once the laughing stock of the fruit and veg world, but is now a winner.
But purple sprouting borccolli will always be ****, as it will always be broccolli.
