Building/Motorways in Ibiza and DC10

Right.... far be it from me to listen to rumour and supposition but I've heard odd bits recently saying that DC10 may be done and dusted this year as there'll be road development in the winter that will mean its closure?

I hope/pray this is a load of codsh1t but someone confirm this will not be the case and put me out of my (temporary) misery?

Ibiza without DC10 would be a poorer place indeed. :?

It´s a rumour every year. So who knows? Maybe a plan that keeps getting put off that will happen one year eventually. Or maybe codsh1t.

That doesn´t help, but you can still buy me a pint when you get here.

this may be a controversial point of view but i think they should demolish dc10...............if it continues much longer it will have become something different from that which its notorious for.

its demolition would also pave the way for a new wave of dc10s........in the 99-00 mould.

Yep for once I'm in agreement with you

I still love the place but it's not the DC10 then it once was and all it stood for

i'm worried cos contrary to what you say, we always seem to agree on these sorts of matters.;)

i used to hate "back in the dayers" but now i realise i am increasingly becoming one..........

the difference tho with dc10/circo loco is that in my eyes it ceased to be what it was all about when it started winning "club of the year" and mixmag's "hottest club event", etc, etc.

its like the terrace, it will never be the same again. it'll be good and in a different way, i'll have fun, but it won't be the same again. :?

Couldn't agree more, I still love DC10 but it's lost that special 'edge' it used to have - getting there at 8am on a Monday morning, waiting for bouncers to open the doors to the terrace and spending your time rolling round on the cushions inside with fellow reprobates of society 8O Then running out onto the terrace at 9am and then literally not knowing who was going to turn up and play and we had some real gems - X-Press 2, Lottie, Jon Carter, Tongy and then the pinnacle of all Danny T turning up and playing an unannounced 6/7 hour set - it doesn't get much better than that :D

Why doesn't that happen anymore  I use to love Lottie at DC10 she played such dirty tribal sets

Everyone on this thread is right and has a very good point but that's the way things work out in clubland (and everywhere for that matter). Things ****in' change. Sometimes for the worse, simetimes for the good but change is inevetible. And you can't blaim DC10 of course, every year more people are coming to the club and because of that they have to professionalize their organization in order to keep it running. Look at Pacha, it openend in 1973 I think and still running strong but in a very different way then it used to be. Eventually a new club will emerge with a feeling like DC10 (where Danny Tenaglia will control the parking lot again  ) and you all will get that 'underground' feeling back. But for now, just **** it and loose yourselves @ Circoloco for it's still one of the best parties in the world!!!

Completely agree and I don't want to be one of those back in the day whingers  DC10 is still great fun, it's just that DC10 1999 - 2002 will always have an extra special place in my heart ;)

i heard theres a 5 star hotel getting built next to it with a golf course. thats all ive heard mind

One way to show your dislike of the new road: buy a ''No Volem Autopista, Volem Circoloco T-shirt!!

I did and not just because I wanted a souvenir from DC10 but mainly as a statement. These roadworks are ridiculous and way to big for a small island like Ibiza. Everyone who's been there this year knows what I'm talking about and for people who are going this month, be warned! Nothing is like it seems anymore, at some places you almost can't recognize the island as it used to be :x
