Afternoon all!

Off to Budapest next weekend with some friends, any tips on where to go clubbing and decent places to eat?

Food wise - Hungarikum Bistro.

Honestly the best meal I've ever had, you would need to book a table if it is at the weekend though.

Clubs - Any of the ruined bars, Corivinteto is a great club. Just check reisdent advisor to see what's on.

I will get a table booked for that resturant, there is 8 of us so it will be worth booking.

Corivinteto looks cool, worth a trip im sure!

Looks like a few things are going on that weekend, hopefully should be good!

We're all ears..

Thanks for asking, brings back some good memories

I spend there one study semester and only lived 5 minutes away from coronita bar….but had no idea of it. one night we were out in one oft he bigger clubs outside of budapest…I think it was called „club 51“. it was a porn-techno-party (yes…they had sex on stage :D). when the club closed, there was a double-decker-bus without a roof (like at loveparade) with free drinks and a dj playing techno music which took us back to town……and guess where it stopped: coronita bar!

A small club in the middle of a shopping street. dark, nasty….open from saturday morning to sunday night. and, how can i describe it? let’s say: with a non existing drug policy. I can remember a guy wearing a body bag staying in front of the toiletts („what do you sell?“ – „everything“). And no need to use the toilets…..just order some unicum at the bar and do your thing:cool:.

It looks like they renamed club51 to club coronita…and the original coronita bar has closed. I’m not sure if the new one is similar…..

Club piaf: I was there only twice, more relaxed, some gay people but not only. Not easy to get in, as we had to knock on a door to convince the bouncer to let us in …..talking through a door viewer (like in the gangster movies).

basically I can say that budapest is a great town with nice people, low prices. good food and very beautiful by night. But also many poor people……..many lost their jobs when they joined the EU. But I hope that changed since then…..

Wow this is sounding better by the minute! I hope the new coronita bar is as "different" as the old one!

Thanks for the advice, I will keep it all in mind

Great place full of cool clubs and ruin bars. So cheap as well we was paying what worked out to be 90p for a litre of beer at a irish bars happy hour. Be careful with getting ripped off tho check change etc. Think its bout 400 forint to the pound which makes it quite confusing!. We went to a all you can eat sushi place called wasabi which was pretty good and reasonable priced. Enjoy my friend. Was there twice last year stag do and with the missus

All sounds good to me. I love Sushi but Im the only one in thr group that does which is a shame.

90p a litre ha! Can see us being drunk the whole time at that price

It was brilliant! Went to TuTu club saturday as a friend played a set there, that will really good!

Friday we popped to a few ruin bars, same saturday evening.

Not sure the names of places we ate but all were brilliant.

Everyone was so friendly!

Only issues we had were with taxi drivers, the one from the aiport charged us £210! And another managed to use my card to empty my account... luckily the bank were brilliant and have refunded me the funds.

Yeah didnt click at first, we got out and I asked how much it was, he stated 75,000 so we just paid without thinking. It then clicked when he left that it was £210!!

Amatuer mistake on our side
