Boy George

Still, I'm VERY up for tax-free fun, some things cost enough as it is ;)

But if the money wasn't going to Tony Blair and Gordon Brown think how convenient it would be to go to Tesco on a Saturday evening and go 'I'll have a case of rose, 40 Camel lights, 10 pills, a gram of coke and a gram of k please nice shop ladieeeee'

Oh that does sound ideal 8) Your nights out sound just like mine

Still, bet you the price would be through the roof, and if we're honest getting supplies is not a very big problem in this country is it  ;)

you know what shocks me the most about Boy George and this "Cocaine Shocker"???

How fat he is - I am not saying "fat people shouldnt do coke" but from reports I have heard on coke taking - it diminishes your appetite somewhat........

Same with Maradona, Puppy :!:

Probably is a body reaction for very strong consumers?

2 other porky ex-coke addicts

Elton John

Robbie Williams

Must be all the alchol you can consume whilst snorting away!!!

and seeing those photos of him at the airport, you understand why he wears so much make-up usually

pups, you certainly seem to read up on these subjects diligently ;)

I think Boy George is way ahead of his time when it comes to style and fashion though. The way he paints his face is nothing short of artistic. So, he has a little problem w/ drugs, but everybody has their demons. I think people should lay off him a bit.

Did you not get the irony of our comments :?

Oh, I know Babs, just supporting George just like everybody else on this board. I hate how all the newspapers are raking this poor guy through the coals because of what has happened.

Ah I see, I thought you thought we were having a go at George's drug use  ;)

Tbh it's got very little press coverage in UK (don't know what it's been like in America or how big a star he is in America these days) but his drug use was common knowledge over here so it's no real 'hold the front page' news. I just wish the police would spend their time and efforts concentrating on more important things

But he called the police himself :!:

By all accounts, they came to investigate a suspected burglary that he called in, and then found some coke sitting on the table next to his computer.

Even if the cops could have spent their time doing something more important, he apparently didn't leave them much choice in this case.

Yeah I know that.....but is it still worth police time/effort and taxpayers money to try and push for a conviction

It doesn't matter how trivial we think the crime is, if the police witness a crime they're duty bound to press the case. To be honest, I wouldn't want it any other way (unless it's me )

I'm sure prosecutors will try to work out a plea deal of some sort rather than waste time going to trial. George might not agree to a plea, however, because it could mean him getting barred from the U.S. He's more likely to fight it in court.

Yeah but they could have just give him a little slap, tell him he's been a naughty boy and let him go on his way and leave the police free to deal with 'proper' criminals.

It's just getting beyond a joke, I read today that Essex police might press charges against Frank Bruno cos he's just admitted taking coke in his autobiography

That's a different situation. In Boy George's case he was caught in the act. To a policeman, who's sworn to protect the law, it's the same as catching him swiping a pack of cigarettes or carrying an unlicensed gun. He was caught in the act of committing a crime.

In Bruno's case, of course that is ludicrous. Police looking into Kate Moss' case is also insane. Cases like that, I totally agree with you.

Yeah I know it's a crime but I just thought the police would have better things to do when they could have just given him a caution, it just seems a big fuss about nothing imo

All the celeb haunts in London are going to be deserted soon cos they're all going to be banged up inside

But then what would they have done with the "merchandise"? They couldn't leave it there with him and allow him to continue breaking the law. They'd most certainly have to.... confiscate it

I thought that's what a lot of police did  ;)
