Bournemouth...

I know people can post pictures of Ibiza to make us jealous but there is nothing better in UK than Bournemouth Beach. Just been for a pint on the beach at lunch and it is beautiful, I am never leaving this town. All you people that love London so much are missing this... in April.

Monkey World is worth going to even if you live in Doncaster. I'm gonna be one of those sad old fellas wandering around with a season membership when I'm older. 8)

Aww that looks wicked :D

Me and my fiance (who will then be my husband!) are looking to move to Bournemouth towards the end of the year.

Can you recommend areas that are nice but not ridiculously expensive? :)

Move to Boscombe, they are building a new marina there. At the moment is okay, once this comes the house prices are set to double and the area will be regenerated loads. My friend just bought a flat with the premise that the property will double in value when this happens. Right on the beach too, close enough to town but far enough away to avoid the scum. Perfect.

I heard that Boscombe was a bit dodgy tho :? or is it just certain parts?

What are your local estate agents called? Ive been on right move a fair bit but thought we might get a better deal with more independant local ones?

Ooh youve made me all excited, i cant wait to move down there, im sick to death of the rain in manchester :? :x

Boscombe town is horrible, major scum hole. I live in the scummy part of that scum hole. But Boscombe by the beach is really really nice and has all the things I said too so I'd definately say that, it's where most the nice Bournemouth hotels are too. As for estate agents, there are loads, I'm moving at the moment and just google and there are tonnes.

P. S. Brighton is pebble beach :p and not as nice.

look for a place called

Urban Beach Hotel in Boscombe

5 min walk to the beach
lovely place

we went in the middle of the owners renovation - making it very swish and very technologically based with in room plasmas & libraries of music/films etc

cracking food there as well

Don't know it but just had a look at website, coz work is THAT boring and it looks very nice. Good location your right.

P. S. - Sensation, the beach was still an option in October last year, it's that good.

I miss Bournemouth and Dorset in general really. We lived in Sandbanks amongst other places down there (Wimbourne and Broadstone) really miss it in the summer too.

I stayed at the sandbanks hotel once upon a time. What a stunning part of the world that is - most expensive real estate in the world or summat one point? bit with the sea on one side and the marina on the other. And i'm a sucker for art deco residential architecture, so it was like porn walking around there!

My step-dad used to manage it we lived in one of the houses on front a few along from the hotel I loved living there

Nah, it isn't. Bournemouth as a whole has so many different boroughs I don't even know. Trust me ( or just ring up a local agent and ask ), Boscombe, nice little one or two bedroomed thing will be well cheap. Spend a weekend here and have a look about. DON'T move to scumhole parts though, some places look nice but really aren't at night. Especially round my way, got threatened to be beaten up by four bouncers and a pneumatic drill last night...by my neighbour at my own front door, that's how I roll.

P. S. - Sandbanks is the most beautiful place on Earth. Sunrise on the beach there is amazing. Shame it's all man made though...

Yeah we need to go down and spend a few w.e's down there :D just need to get our 2 weddings out the way first lol!! ;)

We would like at least a 2 bed or 3 bed house preferably with garden and walking distance to the sea, I think that might be a bit more than we can afford unfortunately

wow - that must have been ace. Such a nice hotel. It was with work though so only got a couple of nights there & not much time to explore. I remember the marconi room as that was who i was working for at the time. Also a HUUUUge house next door pretty much that was owned by (apparantly) the developer who had built most of it? remember being shown redknapp and geoffery boycotts houses by the taxi driver!
