Of course Bora Bora is safe.

Dont be silly.

Never heard so much rubbish since being on this forum!

There were reports of rapes a couple of years ago on PdB. Most people would obviously be on their guard most of the time and in most places, but one does tend to "relax" rather a lot in Ibiza and let their guard down.

I recommend a bum bag or across the body bag for keeping things somewhat attached to you in the "unlikely" event of not being terribly sober or taking normal care of oneself. Not very fashionable I know, but I attach my phone and wallet to the bag in case of carelessness. I did lose my tobacco pouch one time when I was feeling a bit "carefree".

Why do people seem to like coming onto this forum complaining that others are talking rubbish in such a condescending way? Aren't we all just trying to help each other with tips and news etc? If someone says something that is blatantly incorrect, then is it not possible to correct them politely? In other cases, it might just be a matter of different experiences or different opinions.

Anyway, I heard that some women had been raped on PdB beach (in the early morning I think), so I bear it in mind. Places full of tourists do tend to attract some shady characters, so it's as well to be on your guard in the same way that you would be in London or anywhere else in the UK for that matter.

i've lived and worked in around bossa for years, i've never heard of anyone being raped. not saying it doesn't or hasn't happened but i actually object to the way you represent the info...." i heard that.....". it's dailymail scaremongering!!

a personal experience or a news article maybe instead of grapevine rumours.......where are these reports from a few years ago?

Two people tried very hard to bundle my friend into the bag of a car on the edge of the waste ground behind the sunset strip. Given that he is 6' and 13 stone I think everyone should also be a little mindful.

Grego - I'm sorry that my style of writing PERSISTENTLY aggravates you. For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure I read it on here a couple of years ago - apparently some women were attacked on PdB beach. I'm sure my brain didn't make it up, because I remember being very much on my guard when my boyfriend went off to get the car at about 8am and I was still on the beach.

You seem to think that I'm insulting Ibiza when I'm not and that I'm deliberately scaremongering, which isn't my intention. I don't understand why you seem to be so defensive.

If you think I have something wrong, then why not just say that, instead of constantly telling me I'm talking rubbish.

I am not the "anti-Ibiza tourist board" nor am I deliberately scaremongering - what would I gain from that? And I did leave it open for you locals to correct me (see my previous post).

However, we were all talking about Bora Bora and having a good time on the beach on a lower budget in general, and it just occurred to me to mention that it might be worth being a bit wary because of the previous reports. I'm sorry that I cannot forensically dissect the information and give you precise facts on what I remember.
