Bora bora

Im sure ive heard manier times that you can get your own drinks and get involved on the beach...havent been there myself YET but thats what ive heard 8)

Take your own no problem. We also do this when money gets tight at the end of the week and sit on the rocks on sunset strip 8)

I am a tramp and spend most days drinking supermarket San Miguel at Bora Bora. They tend to put the screen around quite early (could be 4.30pm but I am usually plastered by then). You can either go inside and pay for drinks (about 5 Euro a pint) or carry on outside.

Off the point a little but my mate ordered two orange juice and lemonades when on a sun lounger at Bora Bora. The bloke bought them over and charged him 32 Euro, ouch!

:lol: I like your honesty, I always start with "just a cheeky half at lunchtime" but end up much the same way ;)

32 Euro for just the drinks. The man who bought them over said 'freshly squeezed' when my mate said it sounded a bit much.

It could have been 24 Euros. I was a little tiddly and the story may have become embellished as it has been retold over the years. It stuck with everyone because my mate is both incredibly tight and also considers himself to be some what 'cool'. Everyone enjoyed the internal battle he was faced with given the price of the drinks, desperate not to part with his cash but equally desperate not to look as trampy as the rest of us.

this isn't going to help you but bora bora isn't what is used to be.

the one place i think suffered the most over the years.

you sort of find yourself in and around there now surrounded by people with camera's and videos keen to capture the moment at 'bora bora' and get it up on youtube or facebook or myspace.

mind you, most of the island is like that now.

people go to ibiza to proclaim rather than to...

Are there any other places that are good to party in the sun that maybe aren't as commercial as bora bora.if so what days are best for either bora bora or somewhere else.would like somewhere with a bit of atmosphere during the days that I don't plan clubbng at night

Ushuaia , Sands , La Plage de l'elephant

all on pdb

some cava and plastic champagne flutes from the super market and cooler bag full of ice does nicely for us.your so **** faced by the time they put the walls up you could`n careless about going inside. usually better party outside when people get together anyway..free party..thats what its all about.

There's a club next door as well, and I'm sure we've inadvertently sat on their sun loungers at 2am with a bottle of San Miguel (o vino tinto si lo prefiere) ... Anyway, plenty of scope for free fun with a bit of planning. By the way, don't go to that grog shop opposite Coco bar (on the other street - don't remember what it's called) - they charge through the nose for everything.

i believe the club you mention is Delano Beach Bar , not so much a club but at least they dont put a big 8ft high barrier up!

Si, da, ja, yes - that be the one 8) Apologies for the wrong assignation of it as a club (geez - people are pedantic on here ... :spank: )

Well, anyways, that bar next to Bora Bora - Delano - sometimes you can get away with sitting on their beach furniture with a bottle of something you bought yourself. But we've done this in a kind of "absent minded" without any thought or malice aforethought - wouldn't recommend as a strategy for several nights out of your holiday. Probably better to buy some beach chairs of your own and go find somewhere to sit nearby, that's not going to fry your brain by being midway between 2 sound systems. (A massive problem we had the time we made the mistake of trying to sit on the beach at PdB during the day).

I was going to mention a warning to ladies to be extra careful on PdB beach on their tod, but thought better of it after the last flaming I got for making mistaken comments about Ibiza. Anyway, perhaps "los locales" would like to update about whether PdB is now safe for women on their own after dark and in the early mornings ...

Concise; friend's friend got her purse stolen on the beach outside Bora Bora during the openings weekend. Bora Bora is not safe.

Last year at the opening weekend SWIM's female companion got her purse robbed on the beach after dark. I think it was the Saturday, she and SWIM were similarly twatted (having gone from Ushuaia Opening -> Zoo Opening -> Ushuaia -> Beach outside Bora Bora) and chilling on the beach listening to the music. I guess SWIM's twatted inertia permitted some scum to sneak up behind them and pinch her bag which was on some wooden structure (maybe a table/collection of chairs or something). It's possible she lost it in the sand though but she assured SWIM this wasn't the case. Fortunately she dissuaded SWIM from going to the Guardia Civil to report the misdeed (SWIM was trying to take control and be responsible). Far too much disco for SWIM.

SWIM = someone who isn't me
