Bora Bora - Not what it used to be

That article is a load of crap.

Firstly, it makes the assumption that there is anything in life that doesn't change over the years. EVERYTHING changes, rather due to concrete changes or our changing perceptions. With Ibiza, it seems that people that can't adapt are constantly whining. People that can, continue to have the time of their lives on every visit!

As for Bora Bora, the DJ booth is exactly where it always was! Maybe the dancing has moved closer to the beach because people prefer to be outside instead of in the covered area. I'll have to look back at old photos, but I believe that part's been covered for a while... only difference in the past few years is the glass walls, most of which are opened anyway!

Gee Moore, bless his heart, but I actually like Oliver Lang just as much.. the other residents (Gordon, Alex, etc) aren't bad either.

Maybe the new laws have pushed back the time when the music gets turned up to 4:30pm (I haven't been yet this year, but I assume that's the case). That's honestly very little changed from when they used to crank up the tunes prior to this year. It was always a bit more chill early afternoon.

And about security, Bora Bora has always had nasty security guards  If they've started making people get down from the tables, that's a shame... but again, really not a big deal to me!

Get real dude..

Is there any place in the world where DJ's like Roger Sanchez, Carl Cox, Eric Morillo, Bob Sinclar, Louie Vega, Sven Vath, Danny Tenaglia and all the other top of the bill DJ's play WEEKLY???!!!
Is there any club or promotor you know of that can put together a line up like We Love.. does @ Space on sunday? And not just that, you still get to party with them in some of worlds greatest and most beautiful clubs ever seen.

On topic, I skipped Bora Bora in 2006 for some reason (I was not at Jet that year ;)) and went back last year. The moment I stepped through the entrance I got that great vibe back! Everybody dancing outside, screaming and partying like hell. The atmosphere was so good. Sure it has changed but for me it's still a very special and magical place.

ok,so for you,the nights are good because you have big names? For me nights are good because the public have realy fun.you have some new talents every where in the world, and every years we have the same 30 dj's,the same day in the same club since 10 years...for me electronic music has so much to offer than this...

I think you can't deny that the big names are a huge draw for many who go to Ibiza!

There are big names that I'll go see for sure, and because I love the music.. and part of what he's saying is true.. I certainly don't get Carl cox and cristian Varela in one night, sven vath and richie hawtin the night before etc on a normal weekend in deadmonton.

Also, I do love going and hearing new or 'unheard of' DJs.. or they may just be unheard of to me.. I love Matinee, I couldn't tell you who was playing, but loved the music and the atmosphere.. one of my favourite parties for sure.

Howver, I never would have gone to Ibiza in the first place if I'd never heard of the DJs, I've definetly come away with new favourites... but if, before I went to Ibiza, I'd seen that DJ BillyBob was playing, I probably wouldn't have made the trek over with to begin with.. and now this will be my 5th year going back... still hoping will have a good time! 8)

i had some fantastic times in delanos. i also got stuck in the loo for about an hour the bouncers from bora bora had to smash the door down! The night spain won the footy was the most memorable. but then the next day some guy come round going mad and they had to shut the doors and take the music inside. Are the beach bars on las salinas as wild as the old bora bora? I visted las salinas beach on a tour of the island this year but was only early afternoon.
