Bora Bora - No music!...

Sorry guys, but in early july there was definitely an inoffical afterhour by cocoon near bora bora on the beach. cocoon bought a licence and made (of course free) afterhour for everyone in between bora bora and space ( hehehe ;)

Ricardo Villabolos and Richie Hawtin were spinnin and it was fantastic...

I just got back...what can I say....what happend on Bora had a big impact on me and my friends! I did spend my last days there during the daytime, cause I kept on hoping the music would return.
The atmosphere sucked, guardian civil walking arround(like they haven´t got anything else better to do  )
It was a shame to see how the party continued at the bar next door, wich is understandble, but it hurt to see it.
Next year I´ll return to Ibiza, but it will never be the same for me without Bora!!! :(

I have read all the posts, and cannot find any word for what I feel right now, although it was gonna happen sonner or later.
Many of you talk about some other things that you can do at Ibiza, but you have to understand that all of the beautiful things at the island will be gone as well. It is the Capitalism that rules, the one that dictates that you have to work, not dance, not party, because that is not productive.
The big clubs will suffer as well: most of the people that go to big clubs come to Ibiza because of Bora Bora and DC 10. I already have a Space club here in Madrid, but I got no Bora Bora or DC 10.
For me it is like The Lord of the Rings story. We try to defend beautiful things like music, freedom, happiness, nature, and the system tries to break them. Sauron and Saruman have won this time.

Petrus, you are right, we cannot just let this go. Ibiza is our land. I will think about something. Maybe we should make t-shirts asking to reopen bora bora and dc10. I´ll make one for myself, and I know its not going to be of any use to walk around Ibiza with that t-shirt on, but it could be an idea, a beginnig, and maybe somebody will come up with another idea and so on. If we unite, if we work together and if we love Ibiza no one will stop us and most important, we will have the best Bora Bora reopening party!!!!

I completely agree with you Luxor.

I still can't believe they're going to shut it down :( I'm not going to say I'm definitely not going to go to Ibiza again, but this certainly makes me think twice about going. Like Luxor said, many people go to Ibiza for it's beach bars and NOT for the big clubs.

In fact i've often gone out to the big clubs BECAUSE of Bora Bora. IE, you think youre going to have a quiet one and stay out till 12, but the music there is so damn good and you just want to continue somewhere else!

I think these superclubs are going to suffer too.
For example if i knew DC-10 and Bora Bora was going to be shut, i probably wouldnt be going to the Space closing this year. Is it worth the £400 just to stay 4 days and ONLY catch the Space closing?? I dont think it is.

We love Sundays goes hand in hand with CircoLoco, and partly with Bora Bora too.

Well, if anyone is going to the Jet appartments from the 1st to the 6th of October... i'll be taking some speakers, theres a party in MY terrace.. ;)

This sucks big hairy arse!!!!

We went for the openings in June and spent every day on Bora Bora, such a perfect place to start your night. I can't believe it's closing! We're going again on Saturday for the closing parties, and I'm praying that somehow they'll decide to turn the music back on in time for our stay

Exactly! For us the main point of coming is dc10 with bora bora second. Amnesia, Pacha VIP, Space and others are nice too, but they are not the point why we come. We always arrange our flights so that we have all of Monday for DC10 and the followups. Like next week and the following week.

Bora Bora and DC10 are definitely feeding people into the big clubs, they are during the day so that's obvious. Bora bora is not even competing with Space (except on Sunday, when Space is too full anyway), because it starts when Space ends. So it's quite difficult to understand why the disco mafia wants to shut them down.

I guess now we can go to Formentera instead, followed by nice dinner and good sleep.. Hmm I guess there will be enough free parties and guest list passes anyway. But at least we're not going to pay entrance to the big clubs. Next summer it all depends on if the current situation continues.

Becks, see the two of you on Saturday!! Hopefully we can make our own fun for the week. Im sure we wont have any problems. keep the chin up.

Hi
I am sorry of hearing about Bora Bora,
Maybe the problem is that Bora Bora is just a Chiringuto, a bar in the beach, and hasn?t got license to play music, somebody that Knows this fact report it , so they tell them that they can't play music, but this doesn't mean that if they ask permission, they ask for the license that allow them to play music they wont get it. What I think is that maybe the won't get in time for the this season, depends of the type of requirement of the regulation. So maybe is not so bad as it looks like.

So so far its Bora, DC10, Trincha, and KM5 that have been closed?

Any more?!

yeah.. there was no music on the 9th.. my last day there..
I went every other day.. very sad if this thing isn't opened next year!

apparently... bora bora, dc10, km5 and sa trincha have lost music licence...

however, had a look at dc10 pics from last week and everything looks fine??!!
