Bob Sinclar pulls a bunny out of the hat!

Just like 'Dimitri's Night at the Playboy Mansion' should be in your record collection, so should this comp. Was banging it out constantly in the car for 2 weeks in Ibiza and it's getting hammered relentlessly in the office. Anyone who got in the car asked what it was and when it was released.... CD2 is my personal fav - A must have for the record collection - and not a recent Bob single in sight! Proper sing-a-long stuff... :D

Are the tracks like Voyage and Michael Zager Band the original versions? They are disco classics!!!

Edit, just listened. They are. John Davis Orchestra too... wow. Bourgie bourgie is such a good track. Some of this CD is proper disco. Think I'll need to get this.

Sinclair needs to be held accountable for all the sh1te music he's been churning out. I'm not forgiving him that easily. Some artists with talent and integrity should have their music bought, and the sell out muppets who fill the radio playlists with grot should have their stuff ripped off the internet for free... this smacks of the latter!

Hmm - we seem to have mixed feelings on this one.

Bob sinclair's own music is pap, but this compilation looks good (minus his pap)

Sinclar's DJing is nothing like his own music (except when he slips his own songs in his sets... but even then he usually picks some better remixes)

I like Defected Records but they are churning out too many compilations thesedays, im on their mailing list and every other week it seems they are releasing a new compilation, in danger of becoming the new Ministry Of Sound = commercial sell out.:?

Keep it underground.

Facts, facts, and more f*cking facts (apols for language)

This is obviously spam. I think maybe we should have a spam forum

Defected are nowadays a musical joke.:spank:

Bob Sinclar, and his latest releases is/are the empitome of this 'joke'. (And it gives me no pleasure in saying that)

That said, this compilation looks sh1t hot :D. (As was Dimitri's at the time)

It's unfair to condemn Bob for life for his current abomination cash cows. You can't forget the classics. The man responsible for I Feel For You can only go so far down in my estimation, likewise the BS mix of, say, Fantastic Plastic Machine - Love is Psychadelic, and to a lesser extent, Kiss My Eyes, and, well, I could be here all day.

This looks like a welcome step in the right direction IMO:D . I just hope it's not followed up by two steps back with their next release...

Those Playboy Mansion CDs were excellent!!

People may slag Bob Sinclair, i know his recent gear has crossed the line and appealled to a wider audience, but for me he's made some excellent underground tunes, I Feel For You is one my all time favorites, Save Our Soul would be up there too!!

Agreed. When I first went to Ministry (in fact my first proper nightclub ever, and first bumble...) the 3 'tunes of the night' were I Feel For You, Jazzy M 's - Jazzin the Way, and it was the first time (apparently) that some little known tune called Lady, (by Modjo) got played (about 6 times by each DJ!):D:D:D.

I will never ever have as good a night as (my memory of ;)) that night, and though I'll never enjoy Lady much these days as radio killed it (though still believe that as 'first time tune hears' go, it's probably the best record ever), Jazzin the Way and I Feel For You (esp the Morillo edit) will never leave my imginary bag, and will probably be played at my funeral (well, not really, but you get the picture ;))

Anyway, I digress...

One thing I do like about Sinclar is that he puts out albums. It's a forgotten art in the dance music world, with a few exceptions (though more people are jumping on the wagon lately).

Even if the last couple weren't great, I could still pop on Paradise, Champs Elysee or the collaborative Africanism and bop around the apartment for a bit. Great tunes on all 3.

(Dance music artist albums are, by and large, sh1t mate ;) Champs Elysee's was ok though)
Should have been more explicit. That's what I meant. Usually they're crap because they're not really albums as much as a bunch of songs on a long play.

Blimey you're making me feel old. Surely I can't be that much older than you Dan? :?

I don't know?! I'm 24 in October?

Yeah, I was always a late starter anyways.

I got back from Uni quite niave, on the fringes of losing my UK garage obsession, though laacking anythign to fill the void, then went up MoS with and all my old schoolfriends, who were seemingly on first name terms with half of the regulars, despite being a good 5 years younger than everyone in there.
