according to the local tv (TEF), the san jose council ordered to remove/knock down everything in the huuuge space they use as terraces as its in a protected area and it cant be legalized

knowing how slow these things go (the terrace of nassau, for example, is still there even if it should have disappeared by now), dont expect changes any time soon.....

Illegal Changes

The Town Hall has ordered two illegal extensions in es Jondal and Cala Comte
to be demolished.

The case in Es Jondal involves the Blue Marlin restaurant/bar
which illegally built on to the existing building,
as well as laying down 670m2 of wood decking.

A note issued by San Jose said the demolition had been delayed because
the owners of the property had asked for the modifications to be legalised,
something the Town Hall underlined would be impossible.

The other property is a private house in sa Punta de s'Embarcador,
the owners of which illegally added on 70 m2 to the original property.

Both will now have to demolish the alterations within a month
or face financial penalties.
