Grrr - That man leads a charmed life (apart from the crack and heroin addiction thing) - let off again today !!

I'm not a fan either but looking at it objectively, he clearly get arrested far more than the average junkie because he's known and easy to find.

I dont know if this is how it works but you can imagine 2 coppers in a panda car, coming to the end of their shift, a bit short on their quota for the day suddenly old pete swans by, they look at each other "that will do" and off they go in pursuit....its a given he will be carrying!!

:lol: Possibly. Or

'.....Sarge, I need to knock off early to take the nipper to the dentist..'

'...ok constable, well do the paperwork first then go and pick up Doherty and drop him into me and you can shoot off...'

I'm perpetually in two minds on this fella. Depending on what day you catch me

Half of me has him down as this poor misunderstood kid, complete with massive demons that he obviously has no power to shift (as god knows he's had the chance). He doesn't (or didn't) seem like your normal tabloid game-player, so must find being in that sort of spotlight a real burden that he clearly doesn;t know how to deal with. I pity anyone who has to deal with that scum (tabloid press) (sorry), and he's no different in that respect.

There's no denying his talent, and though I don't personally see eye to eye with him musically, there's enough (of the right) people that do to warrant a lot of respect for what he has in his head.

Plus the fact the old bill must see him as open season. Let's face it, coppers LOVE 'taking down' a famous person, and to think the amount of manhours that get spent on piddly little offences from celebrities must be obscene.

And finally, like him or don't like him, I'm still bemused as to what putting him inside would do, aside form the fact it may make the tabloids move onto someone else (and make them your figure of hate) for a week. I think the point that people are wanting to send him to prison for possessing drugs. Aside from the hypocracy from anyone that's done the same (ok, maybe not smack, but...), I just don't think you all realise quite what you're condeming him to - he's hardly going to come off it (and sort himself out) inside, is he?

Which should be what we're ALL aiming for, no?:?::?::?:

And then ask me tomorrow, and I'll be e's nothing more than a drugged up tw@t.

The guy's had infitesssimle chances to sort himself out (the sort that there are millions that would die for), though has thrown them back at everyone. He STILL he perpetuates the image of wanting to destroy himself and everything around him, and seems to be immune from the fans because he wrote some moderately poppy poetry in his opium honeymoon, that young and impressional indie types would go for.

He plays the tabloid game (complete with superstar missus) to a tee, then, like most of those types, scream fould play when it goes against them.

Already has at least one (?) kid from a failed relationship, and continues to live the lifestyle that precludes him from ever changing that.

He's had numerous run-ins with the law, and maybe only a prison sentance would make him stand up and take note, because he seems to continually stick 2 fingers up to the law.

Oh, and would someone PLEASE think of the children etc (he's clearly idolised by far too many, when one person would be too much)

:spank::spank::spank:

I just don't know, and least of all care, I suppose.

To be honest, all of that celeb crap only takes up a peripheral appearance on my radar, it's just that there's a few people that even decent news sources can't fill their screen time with (though you could say that wasn't his fault?)

I personally find him a charming individual with great musical talent!

Lay off the Doherty!
OK, now think of how much of your tax dollars go towards holding constant hearings for the guy as he consistently breaks the law in broad daylight! :spank:

Buckley - Maybe he's targetted because he's a known user and visible, but repeat offenders of any kind are usually monitored by law enforcement.

he's a twat in a hat - and I dont care one iota about him - what does bother me is that quite a lot of the time he's behind the wheel of one of his clapped out motors whilst clearly being off his tits..... not clever!

Be off your tits but dont drive your car you *****.

I am on a "Dislike Doherty" mindframe....

About 0.00000005p per decade? I love the way people buy in to the media Hysteria. He's hardly the first 'Rock star' to abuse drugs.

I love the way Robbie Williams is seen as some kind of Saint by mothers everywhere;

'Awwww, Poor Robbie, he's so brave dealing with all his problems', Yeah, your new Album not going triple platinum must be akin to your whole family being slaughtered. :roll:

Yet Doherty is despised as if every time he puts a needle in his arm he sacrifices a kitten.

wont be the last... but he could be a bit more discreet about it. :roll: especially as now he knows he's got a tele-lense focused on his every move.

No problems with that at all, as long as I don't have to clean him when he craps himself. No buying into any "hysteria" here.

The problem is when he takes it public and gets caught.

And finally, like him or don't like him, what would locking him up achieve

It might spare me the tuneless dirge of any new 'cutting edge' hits of his for 2 months or so at the very least. Utterly devoid of talent from his rambling poetry to his cer-azy blood related artwork. :spank:

Disagree, he is a very good songwriter. And clearly has a magnificent brain when it is not addled with smack.

That doesn't take away from the fact that he is clearly a wazzock!
