You have put the battery in the right way aint ya??

I done that with the last phone i had , i sent it back and everything and there was nothing wrong with it, i hadnt put it in properly

battery inserted right way.

tried 3 plug points that i know work.

left it "charging" for over an hour.

yes. marks were made on the 3 contact points on the battery.

its been sent back now. should get new one by sat with some luck.

twas a Nokia.

the bizarre thing was fact the charger wasnt even luke warm. it should get a lil bit warm when in use.

Very annoying that mate. At least the phones been out for a bit now so they shouldnt take too long getting another one out to you. I think the Orange shop in Liverpool still had a waiting list a couple of weeks ago!

My phone is charging as we speak (insert stick out tongue smiley)
