Better place to stay? San An or San An Bay

Hi all
As the subject says, just a quick opinion from people. Which is better place to stay? Looking for it to be relaxing, but by the same respect, don't want it to be dead as a door nail!!

This west end area sounds a bit rough and ready, so not really interested in staying near there. Is the Bay a nicer place to stay?

I stayed in the Bay but as it's only a 20 minute walk or 2E water taxi ride to the centre, it made no difference in practice. Both have bars, shops, beaches and noise.

I commuted between the 2 meeting ppl anyway but I have to say, I'm gonna try and stay in Ibiza town next year, reckon I'm too old for the West End etc!
 
So which would be better for a couple of 30 yr old Aussie Blokes who are past the "Lets get absolutely rat faced" stage, but still enjoy a good time?
 
I think the bay is a nicer area, there are loads of cool bars and you still are only a short walk from the centre of san an!! So i would say go to the Bay

If you stay in the bay it's only like 10-15min walk to San Antonio, so you won't lose much, but I'd say bay is calmer further down you go.
 
If I can get in at Catalina id defo stay there again.

although I do prefer the Bay - Xaloc or Callas de Ibiza appts are both nice

depends who im with really, mates = town & Mrs = Bay

I wanna remember some of it :D But not saying that a Saturday night there wouldn't be a blinder!!!
 
I stayed in the hotel s'estanyol in the bay which is right on the beach. I liked it so much as its away from the west end when you want to be, but a short walk, or 2 euro boat taxi ride away from the centre. theres some pics of the location and the view from my hotel on here -

aye, s'estanyol is pretty well placed for the water taxi. don't worry about it too much, you'll have a good time whether you are in the bay or the town! id recommend hiring a car though, that way you can explore the island more. you'll be about 30-35 Euros over to Space iirc.
