Hey all, im off back to Ibiza again at the end of July, ... last year we spent alot of our time in the west end, ... although i cant remember the names of half the bars... i remember the rock bar,... and really enjoyed going there - there was a bar at the start of the west end, with a firemans pole on the dance floor, which was a really good bar, with space to have a boogy,...

If you were to recomend a bar or 2 (or even more) which would you guys suggest.

I remember flares was a bit of a let down there aswell, to small and poxy imho.

why not make it your mission to test them all personally. i'm sure that would be more fun than listening to us drone on about how we love/loathe the west end.

though just as a matter of interest my own personal favourite is angel's bar - he's a good mate of mine, i've known him for years, and you get a real latin flavour in both the music and the cocktails.

All the bars in the westend are good for there own reasons there are exciting new bars such as Krash, trendy bars such as plastik and Hush, also good clean good cheap drink bars such as strikers.

Id reccomend going to the Eden Rooms thou, the girl that stands on the door there man i fell in love with her last week.

ooof what a body that wee thing had!!

Fully recommend Hush, Hogans, Play 2 and Soul City, the rock bar you speak of must have been Ground Zero, which is brilliant, I only went in on my last night there last year, wish I'd have gone in sooner.

There were others we went in, but like you, I cant remember the name of half of em

depends on what you define as West end but Viper is a superb bar8).

Kilties can be fun later on in the night.

Agreed, the Viper is a great bar, a little away from the West End, really chilled atmosphere there, decent little terrace theyve got as well ;)

Never went in Kilties, karaoke aint really my thing

I personally dont go to Ibiza for the West End, even when I went at the age of 18 I hated it. Filled with teenagers throwing up on eachother and starting fights, horrible!
I walked through it last week on the night of the England game and it proved my point. Big gangs of tanked up idiots chanting "we are ****ing England, we are ****ing England la la la la".

If I wanted that kind of holiday I'd go to Malia or Kavos.

Each to their own though

that's unbelievable! on a night when england were playing in the world cup competition of the world's most popular sport there were football supporters drinking in bars and chanting england. what is the world coming to?

I assume you'll be joining them then in the West End tomorrow night Stephen, in your England colours?

some people do only go for the west end. i think there are some good places in san an, I find if you go out later, most of the eejits are mangled by 2 or 3am and it gets a bit quieter. Hush doesn't really pick up will about 3 or 4 anyway - then down to the Fishermans after that.

Its good for entertainment value :)

Yeah, Ground Zero was the place, - we went up there with the intention of findging a few decent bars, to get a feel for what its all like, as it was our first time up there... but we just spent the majority of the evening in there.... the only fault i would pick with it, is that its quite dark in there, and there is little light ... although if my memory serves me right, at the back there is a large window, where you have a great view of San An and the sea at night ...

Flares was a let down aswell rom what i remember, ... all crammed and strangely set out.

Cheers for the recomendations though!!

i hate people who spend half their time on here just slagging the west end. It has its purposes and despite what some might say i and a lot of others have never seen a fight or people being sick on each other. In fact the most i've seen is a guy being thrown into a police van, nobody paid any attention and it was over in 1 minute.

the west end has a purpose for a lot of people visiting ibiza, its a place to start the night with some cheap drinks, socialize, talk about the day etc and mingle before moving onto a club and paying silly prices for drinks.

the bigger bars also can serve as a decent night out, especially if your breaking up your holiday and not going to a club for 1 or 2 nights.

thats what we do generally when we go, we will go down to the sunset bars, watch that at coastline etc, go back to the hotel, play some cards, get ready and go out to the west end, do a lot of the bars there, then for 7 or so nights of a 10 night holiday move on to Pacha, Amnesia etc and stay there until closing.

Considering we go out at 10pm there is plenty of time to spend in the west end and still have a proper clubbing experience in ibiza.
