Lucien Foort
Junkie XL - Unbelievable. Best i've heard in a long time
James Holden
Quivver
Fred Numf

Unfortunately, promoters tend to stick to the 'big' names and guys like the above probably won't get a go at Ibiza......but they should.

What are some others.

They can be up and coming DJ's or guys that have been around who don't get the recognition they deserve.

watch out for Nic Fanciulli have seen him many a time and is awesome :p

unfortunately prog house doesn't get much of a look in as it's not popular enough. Funky house, trance and hard house is what gets the punters in.

I know.....that's the only reservation i have about Ibiza......same old DJ's, same old styles

Kube72, he plays techno and is highly competent and deserves to go far.

I saw Junkie XL live at the vivid party in Space last year.

I almost totally agree with that list. I "discovered" James Holden 2 years ago at Extrema festival in the Netherlands, and he was awesome! I had a chat with him after his set and he said he played in Ibiza but more in smaller venues or bars style KM5, but like I said, that's 2 years ago. His mix CD "Fear of a silver planet" is one of my favourites! By the way, I also discovered Lucien Foort and Quivver that very same day at Extrema!

One to watch is also Lexicon Avenue, who played along with John Digweed at the Bedrock Christmas party in London in December. Digweed is still one of my favourites but Sasha can go f*** himself after all his cancellations (in Space, you remember!!) and a rather poor album relaese last year.

I like the James Lavelle GU CD, but where does the guy ever play a set??

And is anyone familiar with 'The Hacker'? He plays a mix of electro and progressive. I am not that hot on electro but he simply blew me away with his unique style! Wicked!!

Thanks Robo, he plays this weekend (but I won't make it to London). By the way, in April, 2 Many DJ's are playing in Fabric on a Friday night. They are for the moment Belgium's finest export product and anyone who lives in London should check them out, they are very very special indeed! Is anyone on the forum familiar with them? New York Times awarded them the 'best new DJ' title of 2002. Check out their compilation-mix CD

And one might think I work for Extrema (I am not) but after my message I surfed around a bit and guess who will be playing at Extrema 2003 (July 19th)...??? LEXICON AVENUE!! Jipee!

Fabric does seem to consistently book the best quality djs. The FabricLive friday nights are raved over by the break-heads. Saturdays are best for me: tech/electro/a bit of prog sometimes and some full on rave. The cds are pretty good too

all these guys you're on about have actually been around for ages just have remained underground because they don't play or make that mainstream music.

James Lavelle often plays at fabric. He's also owner and founder of mo-wax records.

I saw James Holden last July in the biggest club of them all. He played Xtravaganza @ Privilege, only time I've ever seen him but I really liked him :D
