its about £22 for the 2 of you for 2 weeks. if you go on lots of hols like myself you may be best having an annual travel policy. Or if you have an egg card you cud (but might have missed) the offer £15 annual policy for either family (2 adults 2 brats) or 2 named adults. bargain!!!!

Not sure about insurance because we get free cover from the bank but I would strongly recommend that you get an E 1 11 form from the post office.

That doesn't cover everything.

You need to get that AND something else.

I've got an Egg Card and they had as briliant deal for £15 per couple for a year of European trips, no matter how many you take. Think it might've finished now though.

Everyone also now needs to get a new E111 that was introduced a couple of months ago.

I have used Direct Line on the last couple of trips but they certainly charge more than the prices quoted above.

Bear in mind that if you are planning a few trips away in the year that it may be more economical to shell out for Annual Cover instead of single trip . . .

you need both e111 and insurance.

Best place I got insurance was in STA Travel, student travel shop. Even if your not a student you can go to them. Cant remember exact figures but it was cheaper than anything I've seen here. Mind you, once you add the cost of going into town looking for it etc., blah blah blah your probably cheaper just getting one of those online ones up there! For all the money you save between a tenner and £12 or whatever it is :)

I normally just take the insurance deal that the operator do with the package holidays. This year were doing it seperate though so will need a good one.

I never bother... ask yourself this..How many times have you visited the A & E at home ? Also, never take cash, just take a debit card and use the ATMs as they give you a better exchange rate.

How foolish. There's always that one time you'll needed and if you don't have cover, you're screwed.

not really... the health services in Spain are generally very good, so screwed is not a word I would use. It may cost some money to get care but you have to weigh up the odds as with all things.

We never have insurance when travelling, specially if it's to a UE country. Pep's visa includes travell insurance and I get free medical coverage from work including traveling too

if you weigh it up and decide you'd rather save £12 than be covered for theft/lost luggage/holiday cancellation/medical bills etc etc then ya gotta be a bit foolish! ;)

point taken but at least I won't have the stress of thinking that something is covered only to find out that it's not..... Is this a lame arguement or wot ? OK I'll retire to my rock.

Yeh, I got one of those new ones. Guy in the Post Office said that if you get one of these you will automatically get a new plastic card sent to your home around September. Saves all that form filling malarky.

Thats the insurance i have also taken out, pretty good deal think it ended last week?

for anyone that doesn't you are putting your own familes at risk from having to come and tend to you, fly you home etc. etc. if things really turn bad. For the sake of a few pints and a pack of fags, thats well selfish! and i know you can hear me from behind your rock!!! Take heed!
