Best high end restaurants?

Hi all

Anyone got some info on their opinions on the best restaurants on the island? I heard about Las Dos Lunas but I also read something someone wrote that it was crap based upon the quality of food expected at that price.

I read some other suggestions on here but I didn't see a dedicated thread.

Definitely going to hit up KM5. What else? Primarily thinking in the middle of the island and towards Ibiza town.

Thx !

The ones I found by search are:

Villa Mercedes
Bambuddhas Grove
KM5
Kumharas
Banyan Palace

try the ones in ibiza port area.mine you some of the best are the local bars tapas etc.high price places are not always the best.cannot beat local bar mama;s cooking places.

Thx Woodruffe. Ya, going to poke around in old town a bit too.. but more in the mood for the higher end stuff after my last trip here. The local bar places are more miss than hit and there is plenty of info on spotlight on good places in that category. Just not too much info on the upper end, so I figured I would ask.

I tend to agree with woodruffe on this, don't think the "high end" are always the best....

but I'll admit I'm not a gourmet from the USA

also agree with "high end aren't always the best", but here you go...

ama lur near sta gertrudis
sa capella outside of san antonio
el ayoun in san rafael
l'elephant in san rafael
el clodenis in san rafael
lio in ibiza town
pacha restaurants
el madrigal in ibiza town (marina botafoc)
bambuddha grove on the san juan roan
atzaro in san lorenzo
es xarco near porroig (and there's a second one that doesn't come to mind right now)
juan y andrea in formentera

i've only ever eaten in three out of them all...but they're all well-known. also have heard good things about trattoria del sole on the road to san jose. there's lots more...

Some top notch choices I've been to:

Masia den Sort (on Ibiza - Sta Gertrudis road)
Cas Mila (Cala Tarida)
Sa Punta (Talamanca)
Es Boldado (Cala d'Hort)
Sa Cornucopia (Sta Gertrudis)

I posted reviews in the Restaurant Reviews thread.

do you guys have any opinions on the "old cock" in portes des torrentes, im told by the locals here, the food there is better than many of the arty farty beach side places?

kev

Thx guys ! Agreed on high end is not always the best, but it's a good place to start sorting thru :)

What about nice breakfast places that are open like 6 or 7a after clubbing? Croissant show is definitely on the list, but what other places in Ibiza town ?

Some places around Marina Bota do really good breakfasts and passion in PDB is very popular for breakfast and lunch.

Villa Mercedes and Bambuddha Grove are really nice places but to be honest the food's pretty average considering the prices.

As a rule of thumb, if they've got their own chillout CD the food's probably going to be a bit of a let down.

Banyan Palace has been closed down for a while.

Some ones that I like (only a couple I'd describe as 'high end'):

Es Xarcu
Can Pujol
La Paloma
Balafia
Can Pilot
Trattoria del Mar
Destino
Luna Nell Orto

Try S`Ametller in ibiza town. amazing food and so cheap you`ll be embarrassed paying your bill.Quite hard to find but well worth it ..:D

cheers don

we have booked for sunday night as its within walking distance for us, the food coming out of the kitchen while we were there looked very well turned out,

so fingers crossed.
