While in Ibiza this summer im thinking about going to Benirras, so is it really worth going to and roughly how much will it cost in a taxi from San An?? Also whats the deal with getting back are there some taxis knocking about up there?

Cheers, folks :D

I reckon it would cost you a fair bit to get up to Benirras by taxi, it's about a 30/40 min drive (depending on what part of the island you are setting out from). I also think it is highly unlikely that you would be able to grab a taxi back, I've been a few times to Benirras and never seen any taxis hanging around. You may be able to organise one to pick you up but I would imagine that they would charge you the earth.

Benirras is a really nice beach, plenty of atmosphere etc, but unless you have got a hire car it's not really worth the hassle. You're best bet would be to befriend some people with a hire car and see if they would give you a lift.

Good luck ;)

cheers,

so my next question would be how much would a hire car be for the day and is it quite tricky to drive there, im going with a group of lasses so map reading will be out of the question

I wouldn't say it was too tricky to find, we pretty much found it without a map.

Drive up to San Miguel and just before you enter the village from the main road you will see a sign for benirras to your right. Turn off onto this road and after a few minutes you will see another sign pointing left. This will bring you down a winding road, follow this all the way to the bottom and you are there. Go early though as the car park is small and gets packed very quickly and people park anywhere. At about midday it looks like a car dumping ground.

With regard to hiring a car, not sure how much it would cost for the day. It depends to who you go and what you want to hire. I've heard Moto Luis is very good, although not used them myself. Here's a link  www.motoluis.com/en/index.php

If you are going to hire a car though, why don't you take in some other sights aswell. There is so much more to Ibiza than Benirras 8) ;)

cheers party girl youve been a great help i think ill start a new thread to find out what sights i should take in, in a day around ibiza

No problem, anytime! 8) ;)

The best way to see Ibiza is to just go anywhere and get lost! Seriously, I have come across some beautiful sights that we have stumbled across accidentally.

However here's one recommendation, take a drive down the south coast to see Es Vedra, it's amazing.
