Basement Jaxx will be playing at Glastonbury Festival 2004 and are the first act to do so this year. Comprised of Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe, the London duo are known for taking dance music to the next level with their varied crossover mixing of house, punk, R'n'B, hip hop, disco and latin beats.
After signing with XL Records in 1998, the Jaxx's first single 'Red Alert' broke new ground by making the UK Top 5. Their debut album, 'Remedy' became one of the most important records of the 90's while their 2001 release 'Rooty' - a name taken for the Jaxx's underground parties in an Irish pub in Brixton - was praised for its "evocative vocals, tweaked beats and rich soundscapes."
