back @ work

In very simplistic terms I look at 5htp like this:

Brain condition min 4 weeks since going clubbing and taking pills = Normal Seotonin levels, ie Battery Fully charged :D

Brain Condition after night on Ecstacy = Depleted of Serotonin, the brain needs what Serotonin is left for basic functioning and starves area's which can go without causing and imbalence in emotions, ie Battery run almost flat :(

Brain condition 6 weeks after clubbing in recovery mode topping up lost serotonin a bit each night (over sleep), ie Battery on trickle charge :?

Taking 5HTP is basically taking serotonin (in simpplistic terms) so sticking with my analogy the battery is recharged of a much quicker time period, and if taken at appropriate (increased) doseage will avoid the battery ever running flat :D

The other big issue that makes you feel so sh*t is the sleep depravation so it is important that the week before clubbing you try and get more than your normal (ie 9 hours instead of 8 a night) and then after do the same to catch up.

I am convinced that the reason I felt so "hazy" after a week in Ibiza was as much to do with overall fatigue as chemicals taken :?:

Think thats probably the best idea mate. Been doing them about twice a week (normally about 3 per night), for the past 4 months.

Have a really busy January with Uni work and exams, so me and my girl are staying off them till the middle of February...think that should help?

Does 5-HTP really make a difference to? Cant be bothered with all this emotional cack Ive been getting with them, I'm normally the most stable care free person ever

Have a break me ol' mucker. Couple of weeks proper sleep - they do all sorts of stuff to your sleep patterns. If you're getting all emotional they're probably damaging your physical health too, So... get down that pool of yours and regain your fitness.

Then, when you fancy it, do it, but moderate it. When something feels bad stop. Bet you've carried on even though you were already feeling this a while back? Don't overdo it again and you won't have to feel like this.

Learn your limit and stick to it. When you've edged past your limit, slow right down to compensate.

And, for immediate comfort, remember it's Wednesday and you'll feel none of this by Friday.*

*and that's not an excuse to get back on it!

Thanks Buckley, very good and relevant advice there

My sleep is all over the place just now, not had a good nights in weeks. Not as emotional today, but I was absolutely in tears on Monday and Tuesday...not like me at all. Just spoke to a mate and so was he. Been like this for the past month or so.

So...yeah its time for a break. Gonna stay off them till at least mid Feb. Really looking forward to quieter nights in Jan just going out for dinner and the cinema etc.

Cheers
