Back in the day....

Copy of a link I sent to some friends yesterday with the title

"God I miss this"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vrr11nOQGWA

I was at this rave and was totally battered to this set

Ahhh the memories (or lack of  )

You may have to seek approval from Barbie or Morbyd as to whether that is correct usage of the phrase 'back in the day'.

While the music may seem disingenious those days (or maybe a little earlier - when is that clip 92 or so?) will always be the best for me. We'd moved from just raves to clubs on Fridays, raves on Saturdays. We had a tight knit group of friends who spent Friday to Sunday together and every night was a new adventure. And it was all still new to all the randoms you met so they were s excited as you. 89-91 was my youth at it's height.

The best of days.

The big question is can you remember the tune/group that is playing.

10 points for a correct answer

First 2 are cool, loved the 9 minute vid especially the piano stuff near the end. Next one was a cut over so BOO and never spotted brandon in the pink.

Homeboy a hippie and a funky dread----- anyone got it?

I couldn't agree with you more Sir8)

Maybe it's an age thing but I similarly look back to that era as the best time of my life.
No matter how good a closing party in the biggest club in the world might be, one thing that cannot be match those times was the spontaneity and exitement of what might be about to unfold.
I guess there weren't the expectations then like there is now which I guess is born out of familiarity for the names you've seen before or the nights that you've been to before or heard so much about? I think the night was more about the music and having a great time and less about the surroundings and what everyone looked like etc?

Buckley you are the man perfectly placed to do a "one night only" of true old school tunes....and the perfect place to hold it would be the Rythym factory as it has that warehouse feel about it.

So.........what about it8)
