never had mine removed, not sure if they really do it any more as the whole point of tonsils is to catch thihngs before they enter the lungs or something.. i get bloody tonsilitus every year, it's horrible. Absolutely HATE not being able to swallow :x

Hmm... maybe that would explain why I'm always swallowing water down my windpipe :? I think you're right about them leaving them in mostly nowadays... I think I was just getting sick all the time as a toddler and my parents decided enough was enough!

Still, sounds nasty. I'd get those things zapped if I were you ;)
