Avalon Q for Americans?

I was at that club in New York last year, saw Josh Wink and thought it was brilliant. I kept getting confused by the amount of rooms and doors all over it but still, a fantastic club.
I heard it closed down this summer. I was just wondering why it closed down.
I believe it's been open for a good few years now.
What's the dance scene in New York like now anyway?

No club will ever compair to sound factory... damn i miss it but it was the best club in the city and in the states... the music was sick...

Sound factory was great if you wanted to meet the absolute bottom of the barrell trash from ny/nj. Avalon closed down for the same reason, a bunch of dirty people with glow sticks. They let anyone in there. I'm all for a free door policy but it got a bit nuts. I'm a snob, so sue me. haha

Cielo is good if you're in NYC, Crobar when Morales, Sanches, or Morillo are there, and Spirit is good if you can catch a good dj. Otherwise just put your own stereo on and dance like a maniac with some friends. That's nyc.

Avalon was a nightmare! I remember being harassed by a guido who thought my friends and I - who got in free and had loads of drink tickets - were going to steal his bottle that he paid $300 for. He must have been high - a real VIP wouldn't have stalked us like he did. Never set foot in that place again.

No one is re-opening Sound Factory, and than God. That place was awful. The crowd was horrible, the DJ (Jonathan Peters) was horrible...

Pacha NYC is opening in the same building that housed SF, they aren't re-opening SF... there's a difference.

It's sad to say that most of the clubs these days in NYC that aren't exclusive are horrible. The regular crowds are hideous! And I don't remember clubs having bad BO in the past. There was the sweet smell of girls' sweat, liquor on the aged wooden bars and cigarette smoke, but not BO.

Nah, I think the clubs nowadays let in too many smelly people. In the old days, the sweat on the clubbers smelled much better than it does today. Could it have been the food or the drugs?

Friggin' Avalon in Los Angeles is INSANE..... one of the best sound systems I have ever heard in a club. Yep, lots of nooks and crannies though... everywhere you turn a secret passageway lol. Doesn't do one much good when you're

and about the bo thing... yeah i did discover that at Exit... and not for nothing all the guys that i found to be stinky where all european.. so i understand that in some cultures they dont use deodorant... but yeah it is disgusting and appauling when u smell it.. but i dont wanna be rude i guess...i just stay away..
