August bank holiday.. what is it like?

Can anyone help me with this? I have been to Ibiza a lot in July but never over the August bank holiday.

I have heard about the clubs being rammed - however, my trip is more likely going to revolve around beach clubs and restaurants than Space, Amnesia etc.

Can the increase in people at this time generally make you enjoy your holiday less?
 
just means you have picked a busy time to go.the buses are packed hard to flag or get a taxi at peak times.beaches are busy but there is always space for you towel and not a bed.just depends which restaurants you go to on how long you are going to wait for your meal.but they tend to be quick. the resorts restaurants will be busy but if you fancy out of resort best to pre book.

still very warm. normally, some time between the last week of august and mid-september, the island gets a few rainy days - and normally it's the first ones since about may/june. but that souldn't scare you off. september is such a great month here, it's just not as packed anymore, it's a bit cooler at night and the crowd is the best.
 
I always go (UK) August Bank Holiday, and it's fine.
For me this is the last crazy week before the spectators / kids depart and the proper party starts in September. While I love opening / closings, I think something like 5-12 September is my favourite week. Less people, the line-ups are getting much stronger to attract the crowds and less kids / EDM crowd. Also the weather is still beautiful. I tan the best in September. N.B. The weather end of August / early Sep in 2013 was awful, but just a one off I hope.

Agree! End of June is great, also I love the 2nd Wave of Openings (which I prefer than the real opening weekend): i.e. June 7 Amnesia Opening, June 8 We Love, June 9 Cocoon... etc etc.

Depends where you are. Personally I only dislike Radio 1 weekend as too many Brits (even though I am one)!

The thing I hate most about August is not being able to easily get a Taxi!

However clubbing-wise it's still amazing - though more spectators!

Also..... I find more likely to get bad service / rude door staff etc in August - it's steaming hot night and day - people everywhere etc. As soon as September hits it's like everyone chills out a bit...

I gave up last year trying to guess what Cadenza would do. Have no idea. I'm guessing Luciano will play here there and everywhere. Will he / won't he be at Ushuaia? Who knows. Hopefully not at that bomb/ boooooom place or what ever it was called....
 
you'll get your fair share of luciano mr why :-) i actually think it'll be his best ibiza season in years...

regarding early august, it is the busiest period of the season so yeah...taxis, restaurants, beaches, clubs, hotels...everything is very busy and the service isn't the best. but if you're aware of it, you'll still enjoy it!
 
that's good... I will take that to mean that he is no longer at Boom because that clearly didn't work out how he wanted (from what I heard, never went myself). Combined with him not being at Ushuaia, hopefully that means going back to Pacha or something more intimate like that party at Sacca he did at the end of the season.

My favourite hotel (small boutique just north of Ibiza town, french family run place, v. quiet) looks like it will be fully booked when I want to go. Can anyone suggest any alternatives?
 
I was there from June 17-21 last year and I loved it. First time ever though, I have nothing to compare it to, apart from it felt like heaven.

This year I'll be there from June 30- July 10, final night being at Cream of course, just like last year :D. I'm already dreading the plane trip out of paradise.


I'm hoping early July is still a good time. I'm getting really excited writing this!!!!!!

yeah early july is perfect don't you worry. it'll be busier than mid-june obviously, but IMO the only period i'd avoid is from about 25th july until 25th august. but even in that period people have a good time :)

I want to know this as well as I've booked my second trip for August 26- September 5.

August 26 is my birthday, and I can't think of a better place to spend it at than in Ibiza!!
