As of my telephone conversation with Ben (BBS) just now, all profits from So... 's 1st birthday will go to the relief appeal. So... please get you arses down there.

Not sure if we can official backing quick enough, but I will scan and upload the reciept for payment to the charity after the event.

This is great news Buckley - good on ya!

Some of the charities also allow you to choose that they get the tax relief on your donation - about 28% the amount. I was able to do that with Oxfam - it really makes a difference.

Buckley, that is a fantastic gesture and I am happy to waive my usually substantial fee  ;)

It would be great if as many of you as possible could get on down to the Rhythm Factory on the 22nd to support the event and ensure we get a healthy total to donate to the relief fund.

I know its usually a time of year when we are all a bit strapped for cash, but this is the perfect excuse to get out and party away the post - NYE blues and break your resolutions in style :D

Ben im so glad your mum made it out of there alive, its true what she says the thai's are very generous people even though they have little themselves.
Of all the poeple in the world for this to happen to why'd it have to happen to them?
like they dont have enough to contend with anyway.

My friends friends auntie and uncle and 3 cousins were killed in sri lanka, luckily the majority of people i know out there were in the gulf of thailand and didnt get hit,but some of the beautiful little beaches i stayed at have completely gone

I pray for all those involved and all those that have gone may RIP.

I cannot for one minute begin to cmprehend what the people out there have gone through and what they have witnessed...this will stay in my mind forever.
I hope to go out there next year to help.

RIP.

I wont be able to make "So ..... " but, all proceeds made on New Year's Eve from Pin Ups' New Year Bash are being donated, so I'll have a few extra drinks !!!

Let's hope plenty more Promotors help out ...

Nice one Buckley ! XX

Well done Fella for that gesture, I now know that I will not be able to attend So... due to work commitments, what it would have cost me in airfare I have just donated to our in-house collection at work.
My thoughts are with all who have been affected

The official donation website is www.dec.org.uk but it keeps going down due to sheer volume of people wanting to donate. The hotline number was permanently engaged last time I tried.

I will keep trying though! :)

Lovely gesture Buckley, nice one.

BBS - so glad to hear your Mum was OK.

Its heartbreaking to see the suffering and destruction caused by this disaster. Everyone should try and donate - no matter how small.

wow thats really kind of you buckley!

my aunt and four cousins live in Trinco in Sri Lanka and the water stopped just meters from their door. they were in Manna on the north side of the island when it happened so they were alright. they came home tuesday night and was lucky to find there house intact. my thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this tragedy :(

Does anyone know what banks in ibiza are taking donations for the disaster, as I wish to give but don,t know where to take donation.

Most banks, post offices, shops, etc are collecting donations for this awful disaster.

Great idea Buckley to donate via So!
Hope to make it down there.

I saw some guys on the Thursday morning breakfast news saying its there holiday & they're going to finish their holiday & not rush home just becuase this disaster has happened.
I personally found this distasteful  If I was out there I would at least use some of my time to attempt to help in some way, not sit on the beach & booze :!:
But then it does take allsorts to make the world go round :?

INTENSE1 PEEPS AT WORK HAD KIDS THERE DURING THAT DAY OF DISASTER ;THANKFULLY THEY ALL MADE IT HOME SAFE AND SOUND:
THOSE IMAGES JUST REALLY GO THRU ONES MIND DONT THEY+

Despite spending untold amounts of £££££££ over the holiday, we're going to dig as deep as possible.

Will probably make a substantial donation from the company too.

Couldn't help but feel guilty spoiling ourselves over the new year considering the nightmare these people are going through.

You can't help feeling as if you want to physically go out there and help them in person.

I have one major gripe about the way the coverage of this hearbreaking disaster is covered..... its the way that they keep saying "oh such and such country/government/organisation has given the most in donations" - like its a bloody competion or something..... it doesnt bloody matter who gives the most, as long as everyone keeps on giving all they can..... for god's sake !!

Sorry - rant over, its just that I have finished reading a story in one of the papers about the youngest victim (a 59 day old baby and his fathers struggle to keep him alive during the tsunami.....) its heart rending...
