What am I doing here? I could sell my flat here, buy that apartment outright, keep my house rented out and I'd still be ok if I didn't work at all for a few years.

But I'm scared that I'll get to 50 or 60 and not have enough money to do what the f**k I like....

Within 6 months you'll have some new business ventures up and running... 8) 8) ...ones that don't involve retarded workmen...

IMO if you've got the chance to live abroad one time in your life you should at least try it once. You could always regret not doing it, and having regrets later on in life would be a real pain in the arse.

It is a massive step tho.

My biggest regret so far is having rushed into to work after university and not having travelled.

I'd dearly love to live abroad but the business and my country earnings bind me to this current. On days where I mundane crap gets to me I think "Oh well, the lazy days in a luxury villa in Ibiza (or wherever) will make it worthwhile" but every now again you think I think I'm trading something you could definitely have now against a possible future

Two of my mates did it in 2003.

Left their mundane jobs in Social Service and Retail and sold their house, bought a bar in Figuretas and have never looked back.

They're fully immersed in Ibiza life and wouldn't consider a return.

I would love to do the same, sell up and leave, but next year always seems like a better time to do it.

I have a close friend who is 35 and only worked in Barcelona for 2 years. He worked in Chile for two years after uni, then travelled around South America for another year and lived one year in Bahia.
Back home worked in a boring optical enterprise and he left 3 years ago to Asia, being back to Formentera for the season. I talked to him last week and he said they (him and the gf) are considering to settle a bit for a couple of years.

you're only young (relatively ;) ), work your ass of now, then retire early enjoying the fruits of your labour.
I've always thought it'd be great to be able to retire early with a few properties in the portfolio. Then sit back and let the rentals pay the bills.

Other option is to do six months consultancy work over here a year and travel the other six months, keeping both properties here.

Obviously the 6 months work being the good old english winter, then the rest in Ibiza ??

Yeah, one year would be enough, one season in Ibiza would kill me. I'd get too excited.

Did you sort your 'damage' deposit out ? Will rnd 2 be at the same venue?

Yeah, I sorted it out by telling them that they'd had three times a normal days hire, plus a damage payment of £350, plus the £700 they stiffed me for to keep it on after the 'confusion' reagarding the date, so even if if there was £2K of damage (as a result of their security not showing) then they were still £1K+ up on the deal so they could see me in court if they wanted any more.

So... it might not be in the same place mate, no

I know how you're feeling Buckley.

I think i need to go and chill on the moon (or somewhere with absolutely no phones) for a year or two.

If we get any busier i'm going to spontaniously combust!

Oh well, this time tomorrow i'll be on the beach 8)

Busy's great. As much activity as possible - I love it, as long as it's meaningful. Arguing about nothing, using breath to do so, just f*cks me right off.

I don't think it matters, theres loads of lovely places, plus its the people that make a party. And the music obviously. Like I said in Space, if you would like people to invest in the project let me know.
