I really didn't mean to start an argument (as I sometimes do mean). I think it's important to discuss these things so we all learn from each other.
I did worry that Sil would get offended somewhere in here but thought the issue was significant enough for intelligent people to need to discuss.
Silly old men sometimes say things that are indefensible because they are not really of this modern world. You'll never change that, be it ignorance or evil, until time thins out the numbers of these folk among our ranks. A modern organisation in a modern country should not put/keep silly old men in a position where the world hears them speak.
Which I'm not sure anyone's disagreed with so far.
