Anyone rented any decent films recently?

Depends on genre...

Drama - Flight of the Phoenix (way better than I expected)
Futuristic - Aeon Flux or Equilibrium (sort of Matrix meets Minority Reposrt stylee!)
Comedy/chick flick - Monster in Law or Wedding Date
Action - National Treasure

I'm no Barry Norman, but I liked them. Not too heavy...:)

Just saw "V for Vendetta" and "Thank You for Smoking" while travelling.

V was average but watchable. Smoking was quite entertaining... written and directed by the son of Ivan Reitman (of Ghostbusters fame).

I heard Thank You for Smoking was hilarious. I need to see it.

Munich i thought was a fairly good film hard going though, best film ive seen in years in the cinema a while back was the wind that shakes the barley fantastic stuff won the Palme D'or @ Cannes 8)

poseidon (2006) was terrrrrrible!

as said on imdb:

Hollywood you better get your act together. Thanks you for spitting out another INSTANTLY forgettable "Blockbuster" Thank God I only paid $4 dollars to see this. Not only can't the Studios come up with original material. The material they remake is worse than the original. If this crap keeps up you will have even less of an audience. A good cast given nothing to chew on and a Director who has made great films and this is what we get? 150 million and the Ballroom set in the original was more impressive?

barx, looking forward to volver by almodóvar...

Trust me, it's gets worse.... A lot worse...

hmmm hardly a fairytale like.....

to be honest I dont struggle with graphic films normally, but that was just a tad too 'realistic' in my book - I gave my copy to my friend who is sicker than me - bless, he got all the way through it until the last 15-20 mins pixellated and he didnt get to see the end......

Got up to the copper and the Feeder fighting on the bed next to the Gainer.... what happened at the end -so I can tell him
