anyone bother filling in a E111 Form for health insurance?

Yes you need one otherwise you'll have to pay for medical treatment. Your travel insurance WILL NOT cover you for things that will normally be covered by an e-111.

go to the post office, fill out the short form & hand it in at the post office. they will give you part of it back with a stamp on it. ;)

A new version came out last year i think so anyone who hasn't got a new one in the last year needs to - your current one will be invalid.

Yes - What N8 said

and deffo do it.

If you need medical attention out there it cuts through the possibility f having to pay for it then claim back on insurance.

I stapled mine into my passport - so you don't lose it....

Good god yes!

And make sure you get insurance as well (an E111 doesn't cover everything) and read the small-print to see what it covers as often things like watersports and going off-road with a Jeep aren't included.

It might seem like there's no point and you'll be fine, but having had to call a doctor out in the middle of the night after some blood poisoning last year, I would thoroughly advise EVERYONE to do it.

Your holiday insurance will also be completely invalid if you're under the influence of Drink or Drugs - Beware, you could end up liable for hundreds of thousand of Euro's if you need extensive hospital treatment after having an accident while under any such influence...

Its an absolute must :!:

I think its been superceeded by a life long card now. None the less go to your post office and obtain the necessary forms.

I filled in the forms and got a new E111 in February for my trip to Spain mainland. I was told that, with this new version, you will automatically receive the new lifelong card through the post around September.

Not 100% sure but I think you must ask for "state" medical assistance if needed with your E111 and not a private doctor is that right?

having an e111 entitles you to medical treatment from the spanish national health service. in an emergency you should go to the main can misses hospital ( and in summer the es vive medical centre near lidl has an urgencies service) where you will first be asked for the e111 before being assessed and treated. to see a doctor you need to make an appointement at the medical centre (in san an, santa eulalia or ibiza)
