anybody know of any good cheap web design

my friend is looking to start a site on kent live music
and wants a profesional site at cheap price but doesnt have time to design it himself and i dont have time to design it for him !!

can any body reccomend anyone ??

tried nuclearmultimedia who do stuarthursts page that pretty cool but wonder if there are any others ??
 
who much is your friend willing to spend? flash/html? hopw much of the structure has been devised already? how urgent is it? :P
 
not going to be launched till like february im doing all the promotion and pr for it as i have exprirence.

he wants it to look modern funky and with a bit of flash so that the site is not to static but must be easy to edit and add pages.

has been quoted £125 this is for the code for the site a logo and as much flash as he wants !! and also a php message board with the my sqlserver upgrade.

what do you think is this a good price ?
 
very good price mate. i wouldn't be interested in doing it for anywhere near that amount!

ok thanx guys its the same designer that does stuart hirst .com its chepaer cause it only the code that hes writting !!

have you checked out www.djstuarthirst.com will be similar to that.

i'm VERY shocked at the price still. think you/your friend needs to check what you are getting. it's a lot of work for that money. gecko's estimate is convervative i think.
 
Fronty, I don't follow, when you mean you are getting the same code as how Stu Hirst's site is done then where are you getting the graphics and the rest from?

When I said £1000 plus vat that it is minimum I would now charge. I've seen sites of a similar size go for prices in ££,£££ figures.

When you agree to the work make sure you get a WRITTEN contract detailing what you are getting for your money and what you can expect. Just the code sounds strange to me.
 
no its not the same code as stu hirsts site uts by the pole who design stu hirts site.

basicaly we tell them what they want on terms of log design etc and a template of the site and a php message board.

we then use the template and add pages and input onfo etc basicaly there just doing the design and we are doing the rest !!
 
the guy who does my site is a mate, but he's still very very cheap and you still get a half-decent site.
If you want something with huge amounts of flash, graphics, sound etc, you'll pay a fair whack, but if you just want some standard web pages and a few pictures, it shouldn't be too expensive.
 
and to add, Barry (who does my site), is a student studying Web Design etc, and uses the chance to develop sites as part of his course and general training, he's not some freelance web developer doing it as a career as yet, hence the very low prices.
