Anti social behaviour order

Been served an anti social behaviour order from the court for apparently having the music on loud all the time. Half of it is crap - I can't even get a damn lawyer to defend me as no lawyer is totally up on this new law so have to try and defend myself. 8O

Phoned up about 30 law firms today - not one would take it on.

Not happy and got the interim hearing this week. Anyone know anyone who has had one of them served before?

Are you not meant to get a couple of warnings first before you get taken to court?

If not, might get one on my chav neighbours who do my head in playing Busted over and over again ("Shut your f**king face.....its for the bairns right?" ) - try Citizens Advice - they may know of someone who will take you on....

I did. Problem is I have a few other noisey neighbours around me also but they all just point the finger at me.

I am moving flat at the start of April. Do you think it will move with me if I get the ASBO? :?

I used to work for a community safety team in Brighton and used to serve those asbo things occasionally.
I sympathise cos they're quite new and people abuse them all the time. Especially mad people in supported housing/local authority blocks.

Advice:

1. Keep a comprehensive diary of dates/times (backdate if you've not already done this).
2. Go to the citizens advice.
3. Go and speak to a housing officer at the council.
4. Chat to a community liaison officer at your local police station.

Thaks for the advice.

At this stage though I think U am going to have to represent myself on the Thursday for the interim order. I am going to dispute most of it but then I run the risk of paying for the whole case if I loose. Or I could just not turn up, get an ASBO issued and by the time I receive it I will be living in my nice new flat round the corner - dunno if it is against me or the flat though. :?

Asbos usually specify a particular area. However, if i were you i would research as much as possible ASBO's, ie what grounds they are awarded on, to enable you to defend your case.

Try the home office website or the office of the Deputy Prime Minister's website for info.

Or again, speak to someone at your local council...there will be someone specific that deals with asbo stuff or a housing officer may have the info.
I have a feeling there may be two ways of issuing them so it may follow you.
Just don't for God's sake brush it under the carpet, it's really worth dealing with this head on (at least then you're informed about the best steps to take at every stage)...when it's all over come to London and I'll buy you a guinness.

Depending on the outcome I could be in Lodnon sooner than I think. Look forward to the Guinness! :P

Just had a superb early birthday prezzy.

I just won the first part of the case! :D :D :D :D :D

what happened then?

did you play your trump card?

Not yet - keeping that for the 2nd hearing.

The judge says that there is not enough evidence to give an order. She laughed when I produced my flight tickets showing I would out of the contry on on of the listed times.

......"having the music on loud all the time "....if you lived next to me you'd get more than an ASBO.....try using a bit of common sense eh.......Harsh ?.....or Fair ?.........( I play loud when the neighbours are out....clever me).....

If you took the time to read what I typed before jumping on your high horse you might understand why one has not been granted.

I used the word apparently.
