An idea...

Not sure how many people on here are attached, but just had a thought to put on an 'Anti-Valentines Day' party on in London on Monday evening.. get a few DJs playing for free, try and get some drinks offers on the bar..
Sour grapes perhaps but could be a good excuse for a booze up :)

Might be wishful thinking at this late stage, but... any thoughts?

Woah, totally forgot it was Valentines Day next week - they've even put our 2 monthly staff meeting on after work that day! How cruel is that! Not that I'm going anywhere!

The current and I will come and smooch all night Marky  S'pose that kinda defeats the object?

Mark,

There's lots of Anti-Valentine parties here this weekend.
There's no tradition of Valentine's day cos our lovers day is Saint George, but marketing is marketing and valentine's day is more and more important every year. Lots of clubs and bars doing special events against it ;)

i think its too commercial but nevertheless I like giving and recieving presents, but doenst have to be specifically on valentines.

I'm not against it, but figured it might be nice for single people to be out on the town rather than sat at home :)

From the amazing lack of reaction from everyone I've mentioned it to, I might just go to the pub instead ;)

im game, always up for playing if the offers there.... ;)

I'm attached but I think thats a really good idea coz its a day for really smug couples to try and make single peeps feel like shit. Me and my fella agree that the excitement of Valentines Day diminishes during school, when you open your locker and your greeted with sweet FA every single year!

Valentine's weekend is ace to go out if you're a single, cos most (not all, I know) couples are off doing coupley things (meals etc), so it's more like a huge singles club.

Thanks for the feedback - reckon I've left it a wee bit too late this time, but will definitely organise something for next year :)
