anyone have any useful info for my 3 days trip to amsterdam on december 30th?

never been before so dont have a clue about any of the clubs or line-ups although i have heard it's hard to get in places if you are british.

any tips/advice would be welcomed!!

was in Amsterdam last weekend had a F***in great time....went to escape on the fri nite sounds were good...then went back on the sat nite they had a nite that was 20 anniversary of escape had a big line up and put on a good show there...anyone any info on this..is it club that was in london...left there at 8.45 and still going on.....if u find any info on this let me know....thanks
 
Dam, NYE, fooking wicked. went there last year. check the fire works out for starters, and no health & safety laws either which makes it fell like a day out in falluja.

Escape - yes wicked club on rembrandtplein. Went seperatly on a stag do in april. really nice ground and trance tastic (if thats your thing) dont think it has any connection to any UK clubs. im there next week for the amsterdam dance event - PVD is playing there on the friday night.

I also believe (although i will confim this next week when i get back from ADE) that melkweg & paradiso are superb venues, although i have not been yet.
 
just re read, regarding getting - as with most places so long as you are polite and happy you will have no problem. i imagine boozed up gangs of brits smoking super green fr the first time give a bad impression but i dont imagine you will have any problems. the amsterdamians (sic) pride themselves on good vibes, so long as you have them you will get respect where ever you go.
 
cheers for that, someone was telling me about an event called awakenings and i emailed them. they do a NYE party in a place called the NDSM warehouse which is 20,000 sq metres!! she said they'd put us on the foreign visitors guest list which is good also!
