We want to goto Amsterdam. Not really up for the whole ferry thing

Would like to fly. We orginally planned to go from Liverpool but there is a night out in London we are going to do and then we are looking at flying straight over after the event.
The event is in Matter, North Greenwich. So my question is what airport are we best flying out of please? (Which is closer?)
Going to hopefully fly out of London and fly back into Liverpool.
