- Amnesia opening times -

haven't heard yet, but I am pretty sure they did stick to the rules and stopped 15mins after you left...

as for cocoon, as you've heard the terrace will open at 9pm with dorian paic. I guess he'll play until 11 or midnight and then dixon and then sven. music will probably stop at 6:30am bang on as it did last night and then there will be afters somewhere yeah...

main room will open at midnight, if I had to guess I'd say slam 12-2:30, gaiser live 2:30-3:30 and then ilario to close.

Such a shame about closing times... Hopefully the afters will be easy enough to get entry and will make up for it.

So is everything going to be starting a bit earlier now?

I think it will depend on whether it'll work. I can imagine music on to open early too for their opening, but not sure they'll always open early now. we'll see. almost all the parties at space also open well before midnight so it's nothing new and thus not unthinkable

6:45 AM closing isn't that bad of a dropoff from 7:30 AM, which is the time I saw both Cocoon and Hyte close at last year. Considering how they're opening earlier too, it means for longer set times from the head liners, whereas before, Dorian woulld have started at like midnight, do maybe a two hour set and leave 5.5 hours for Dixon and Sven. Instead now you get almost 7 hours of sven and Dixon which is stellar, being how these are the guys that peeps mainly wanna see (no offense to Dorian or his fans lol!)

I guess this does cause a bigger conflict with Circo Loco though, unless they wanna work together with Cocoon and put on the bigger headliners earlier....

Be interesting how this goes and if they keep it up, but with less people going to Circo Loco as a complete must like in years gone by (I.e. Many go to Paradise now), this could actually help Cocoon. If they could get the Terrace busy by 2300-0000 as opposed to 0300, could be brilliant.

right ok just a quick one for now (just gotten back from afters, they're still on!)

we got to amnesia pretty much smack bang midnight and by then the club was already busy. not packed yet of course, but busy enough. and by 2am the club was really really busy. so it did work for them in the way that the warm-up part of the night was before midnight and then, from midnight onwards and until 06:30am it was a proper party.

more feedback soon, I'll first have to get my thoughts in order though ;)

Sounds good. I remember the days when we used to leave Circo Loco about Midnight and then go to Amnesia. However, Circo started getting later and later and later, and was still going strong at 3AM+ that people rocked up at Amnesia at 4AM. Suppose the test for Cocoon will be in June on some of the nights where there is no Sven, no massive headliner (e.g. Dixon). How do you fill a club at midnight for those nights? They need to give more incentive e.g. Space style.

On the island they are offering reasons to go earlier. For cocoon I had cheaper tickets for entry before 12.

There's specialised tix for sale on the island for entry before 12?

If they continue with these extended sets like Dixon and Sven Vath this past week for 3.5 hours each then that's pretty good. I might just skip Circo Loco altogether as well if the lineups stay the way they are :S
