- Amnesia opening times -

It's been widely broadcast that the current government aren't happy about their 10am closing times where have you been ffs? :D
As per, the few spoil it for the many and for the foreseeable amnesia will close in darkness and we don't get to dance in the sunlight

Yes I know. Just wondering the logic behind it. Is it a public safety thing? If a business wants to stay open and they are not negatively effecting anyone, let them stay open. Or at least allow them to get a license to extend some days. That's pretty much how it works in the states.

neo those licenses do exist and if you follow the rules you do get them every now and then. amnesia is now sadly being punished for how they ran stuff in last season(s).

7am still a bit naughty though? Could just toe the line and shut at 0630 like everyone else...30 mins more not going to make much difference

If sunrise is at 6:30, it kind of does make a difference, at least in the terrace.

Any confirmation of when it ended anyone ?
DM me if too dangerous to tell publicly!

Tweet from Cova Santa is saying the afterparty is going till 6 AM lol

amnesia closed at 7am, confirming what I had said in the morning.

yeah the outside of cova santa will shut at midnight, but the club inside can of course stay open.

630/7 AM is no where near some drastic drop off from the 7:30 AM closing times I'm used to at this club. It's just that for me personally it's my favourite place to party at on the island, maybe in the world! So I'm just making sure things are going smooth still overall really. Im worried that actually if they go back to their old ways then it could be actually dangerous for this place for the future so I'm actually hoping they don't go too flagrant with the rules!

A friend who was there said carola tried to keep playing but was told to stop. He tried to keep playing but got stopped and so he walked of. Still quite brave to go to 7.

Will Ibiza eventually cut its nose off to spite it's face though? The island economy is hugely reliant on the 'big clubs' I imagine and to be fair without them creating the image of Ibiza all them years ago we wouldn't be where we are now.
Nothing is perfect in life not even Ibiza! However, I don't think they could close amnesia without big repercussions financially, though space is soon to be gone(in current state, too many rumours to even say what will happen but) I honestly doubt Ibiza would survive without the music scene, it's beautiful yes but and we all know there's more to Ibiza then the music BUT the planet has many alternatives that offer better then Ibiza without the music. Ibiza had/has a big part in music still, they need to keep this to thrive forever *only my opinion.
It's almost a double edge sword I personally think the island needs both and hence makes it what it is.
Anyway I'm pissed
Point in there somewhere is 'would they really close amnesia'? 5000 tourists probably more daily for nearly half the year? It would be a huge move towards an Ibiza that isn't thinkable after the last 30 years!
It's such a huge situation currently for both sides and I'm only looking in from the outside anyway but still, as the English say 'food for thought'(shit saying lol)
It's as complicated and ridiculous as the brexit or remain campaign currently but let's hope it resolves positively on both sides or I think Ibiza as we know it will slowly slip away from those of us who enjoy the experience while the suits dig their heels in and play devils advocate from their huge mountain villas out of touch with reality, much like our uk politicians :)

People said this in 2008 when the new clubbing times came in! And look at Ibiza now compared to then in terms of tourist numbers. It's got even bigger. We are talking about a tiny number of us (as % of total) that still want to party from 7AM onwards!

Of course but that wasn't my point, the most serious of sanctions would be to close like DC-10. If there was no amnesia even open because they keep breaking the rules what effect would/could that start?

flashback to 2007 when amnesia was closed for a month at the start of the season and dc10 was closed until late august (IIRC)...it's happened before and it could happen again.

I'm not sure if that's true regarding the tiny numbers. Just look at Music On and the illegal after parties.

The problem with the 6:30 rule is that it's a soft time and leaves the actual closing up for interpretation. Just extend it to 7:30-8 and make it a hard rule so the clubs don't have to play this game. Or make 6:30 the actual time and make it easier for clubs to get a license for afters. I know the gov doesn't want afterhours partying so it really doesn't matter.

And yeah numbers are up, but so is VIP and Ushuaia. Las Vegas is very busy as well.
