I heard Defected had 2000 people for the closing party @ El Divino on Friday! Was anyone there? What was it like?

Also, I checked out their Most Rated public vote chart on their main site. What does anyone think of this?

I think the chart is awesome and promises to be a wicked album! 8)

It was sh1t. I got there at 3 and left at 4.30am because I am not gonna beg to be overcharged for a drink at tiny bars with one or two staff. The bouncers were surly, mildly violent towards the current Mrs B (they shoved her and Drew's girlfriend to move them on) and they had clearly let in far more people than they could cope with.

Couldn't comment accurately on the music because you can't hear it on the terrace and that's the only place you could find a space to stand/breathe/dance. The couple of minutes I spent inside featured Gee spooning large ladles of Gorgonzola to hordes of lads in bad shirts.

I will probably never set foot in El Divino again. Went to Pacha the following night and everything about it was class, showing up just what a tacky sh1thole the previous nights venue was.

Johnny Two Times is a character in Goodfellas who always says everything twice! That's his only line in the film

Wow -- sorry to hear that Mr B. I had a fantastic night at Defected the previous Friday, with Andy Daniell playing a blinder and then going B2B with Sandy Riviera. Lovely filthy chunky funky house. It was just nicely full and was one of my best night ever in Ibiza, surpassed only by WLS two days later :D :D :D

However, the bouncer got needlessly aggressive clearing the joint at the end of the night and when a friend of friend, a DJ from the Rock Bar, tried to retrieve his drink to finish it off, said bouncer smashed the drink along with about ten others over the bar. Totally unnecessary behaviour

mate, i was also very unimpressed with el-divino. i heard soo many good things about it, but it was a real let down. pacha is in a different league!. el-divino seemed very poor, apart from that terrace, may be.

I was there that night too :!: This was my first visit to El Divino and I had a fantastic night. The tunes were fab however it was rather packed and quite hot. You could not get a seat anywhere on the terrace  There were a number of vacant seats in the VIP area where Mark Doyle looked comfortable but we heard you had you but a bottle at 350e to park to rear there

such a shame
such a shame
but i hear ya Buckley i really do...

i hate goons ...
it always puts me on such a down when i see em act like that...
starts me thinking "one on one i could have you mate..."
and that is not compatible with bein lurved up

Oh dear.. I was there for both Defected events.. Sandy and Andy B2B was indeed fantastic, was indeed room - just - to dance and we paid 25 euro for a ticket so wasn't that dear. We only had two drinks as didn't get off the dancefloor, so all around a cheap night - even for El Divino.

However, the closing was packed and I wasn't that impressed with the music either. OK Gee was a bit cheesy but at least it was fun, Junior Jack and his shouty MC was just plain awful. We left also about 5am that night after not finding anything to really dance to!

HOWEVER - if you thought Defected closing was busy - anyone got any comments on Hed Kandi - we were there for 11th September and you couldn't even move. One guy even asked me to move - and I just snapped and said "where the hell do you expect me to go?"

All surpassed by Groove Armada on the WLS Terrace.. I've still got Superstylin' going around my head - and it was 10 days ago!

Looks like I went on the right night after all, I so wanted to go to the closing, but as luck would have it we went for the week before :D

Like Damian said, the music was so so good, it was just packed enough that night too, I had room enough to dance, and it was comfortable. We were on the gueslist also so I think it was one of our cheapest and best nights too 8)

Robo Pacha is in a different league, and I think its a fantastic club, but having only been there twice and both times having my night ruined because I have been pushed about all night by people walking by, and having no room whatsoever to dance no matter where I stood, I havent revisited. I dont mind El Divino as a club, its fine imo ;)

I'm sorry to read about what happend to Buckley and Co, no need for it. However, the black bouncer that works there I have always found to be really nice both this year and last.
:?

El Divino was definitively most disappointing for me this year.

I went to Kinky Malinki and it was totally sheit.

50 people inside, and even then the doormen were acting as complete retards.
Like...one of my mates went outside to make a phone call and they almost didn't let him back in cause they claimed he had been outside doing drugs....

The music was complete rubbish too.

And i missed out a Release Yourself for that  :x ..which was one of the best nights this year imo.

Best venue and parties by far - Pacha, DC10 and Space! ..okey I like Amnesia too..

aah fu*k it.. I love em all!
:D
