I advise anyone who has yet to book their trip or who plans on flying in the near future to avoid using Air Europa. They have the most unprofessional, rude staff imaginable. They also have easily the worst service any airline could possible offer.
The employees at the Ibiza Airport refused to check our baggage through to New York. Because of this we had to pick our baggage up in Barcelona and as a result missed our connection to London. The Air Europa employees in Barcelona could give no explanation for why this happened. They did however spend over 3 hours to find a flight THE NEXT DAY. When we asked if as a courtesy we could be upgraded to first class, they said there were no seats available. This of course proved to be a lie, as there were many empty seats in first class on our flight the next day.
So, we were told we were to be put up in a "four star hotel" and were encouraged to spend the extra day to see Barcelona. The problem was this run-down hotel was in the middle of an industrial park with nothing around. While we were told by Air Europa we get "a very nice" dinner for free, we were actually offered a "limited airline menu" at the hotel's restaurant. Finally, we found out that morning that the airline wouldn't even pay our phone bill and we weren't permitted by the hotel staff to board the shuttle bus back to the airport until we coughed up the money.
To sum up, I would warn anyone who has booked a flight with this miserable company to expect the worst and ask that people not ever fly with these horrible people ever again. I know I won't be.
