air con is a must

when you don't have it at your accomodation its torture on the mega-hot days...

..fans are useless - just circulate the hot air around the room

Bollocks.....anyone who requires air conditioning in September needs to toughen up a bit.

It rarely gets above 30 degrees during the day, and you are rarely in your hotel room during the day anyway. I had a ceiling fan which was more than adequate.

Unless you live in Antarctica for 10 months of the year, the heat is not a problem in September.

You're from Sydney mate! It's well hot compared to our awful summers here.

If you don't get a through-draft it gets really stuffy which is never nice at night.

Fair enuff for the British.

the original question was from Fiz, who lives in Arizona in the U.S. which would get pretty damn hot in summer.

When he goes in Setember, the temperature is quite mild in Ibiza compared to July/August, particularly at night.

He'll be fine without it.

I can sleep no problem with a fan on me, sooner have warm air circulating than Legionairres disease ;)

humidity

kitten's head - it might have been your post that I saw...

wow, it's nice to see all of your responses to this... quite a debate... and yeah, I do live in Arizona and it certainly is quite a deal here in the summer months with temps above 120F at times; basically live in air con though... but, in the other months here, it gets really cool at night, even though it might be hotter during the day, and sleeping is lovely due to that. From what I saw about September in Ibiza, generally (even outside of what is posted here), it is supposed to cool off at night, but I will probably be sleeping through the morning into early afternoon I suppose......... :?

Too right, if you don't get in til mid morning then you are going to be asleep in the hotest part of the day. Yes it is cool in the evening/night time but thats when you'll be in a sweaty club!
