Advice on starting a vinyl collection?

Earthed?......No
I have the earth cables and wondering wtf for. I only connected the amp and decks singly to the speakers no mixer yet just wanted to make sure they work.
Can you give me a "do to list" for when I get my table? Or point me in the direction of a website with an idiots guide. What do I earth them to? Is it just decks or mixer to?

Just had a look at the back of the mixer on the web, you really can't miss where the grounds have to go. All you do is unscrew, pop them in and screw back up et voila. It just stops them picking up electrical interference.

Depending on how much of an idiots guide you want you'll also have to switch to phono rather than line or you won't hear ****. Switch the other way for line inputs (like CDJs etc) otherwise you'll blow everything up...

Right then, I have found a DVS called intimidation iScrath mix live very cheap £75 inc p&p and wondered if anyone has used it? I have asked the mrs to get it me for x mas as I cant after the expensive ones. Rare but mixed reviews on the net it seems to be full of bugs or works perfectly so I will expect the worse
As I need to save for Ibiza in June I cant really be splashing out 50 quid a week on vinyl at the minute so I thought I would try this and see how it goes still beat matching without the sync button and add vinyl down the line if I dont like it. And if I do like it I will eat humble pie
