Advice Needed

You could probably do more sit ups hun, i tend to do around 200 of an evening, when I can be bothered  and about 250 at the gym

Your walking and cycling is a good start, what excercise do you do for your arms? when I go to the gym with Paul we normally do 2 lots of muscle groups excerises (e.g chest and biceps) and do 3 different excercises for each, each excercise we'll do 4 sets of 12-15 reps! I ALWAYS do triceps too (trying to get rid of my bongo wings).

I used to do 200 a night, i have a roller thing at home. Im going to start doing them now, 3 months isnt much really :?

I do the chest one where the thing crosses over :?

I wish Joey would join up with me, id love to be able to train with someone :(

3 months is enough, and at least you've started, build your cv up as much as you can too.

pmsl you sound like me, I've got all my own names for excercises so when I suggest to Paul what exercise to do, he just stares at me

could you not just tell Joey that he has to join, and that its a matter of life or death

Im going to have a word with him later, see if i can try and persuade him

I dont like any equipment that may make me look silly, like that jogging thing! i wouldnt know how to work it for starters

I will start jogging next week so i can look like a baboon like you :P

if doing weights all the time is bulking you out do more cardio!
cut down on the heavy lifting and run 2-3 miles instead, that should help burn off any extra fat and keep your muscles lean...

so would you recommend say 20 mins fat burn cardio, followed by a 20 mins ab workout??

p.s on the cross trainer, when you try to put in the 2fat burn" programme, it asks ur weight, then ur age then asks for target hour?? whats that?? :?

its for the heart rate monitor.

u need the chest strap, and once u put in yr details, the machine controls how much resistence u need in order to maintain your target heart rate for optimum fat burning.

christ, just cos i talk bolloxs half the time, doenst mean i dont know stuff.

 :x :?

the cross trainers at gym take heart rate thru finger tips, so is target hr the heart rate i should be maintaining??? im asking this because you can adjust it??

off top of my head u wanna be in the tartget zone of between 55% - 70% of yr target heart rate (eg. if yr max heart rate was 100bpm, u wanna keep the BPM displayed on the monitor between 55BPM and 70BPM).

use it as a guide tho. you'll find yr heart is pumping along at 70% and u dont feel as fatigued than what u would have done without using it.

Ask your instructor/trainer type people at the gym to explain the machines/give you a program - it's what they're there for!

If you want to slim down/lose weight, just do an hour of cardio every day - 20 min running, 20 min bike, 20 min cross training, then 10 min cool down slow running/fast walking/slower walking.

The challenge

if this don't do it nothing will

5 mins on the cycle machine
750 metres notch 10 on the rower
45 lat pull downs with 4 blocks
30 knee raises
30 push ups
65 bench hops or squat thrusts
40 lat raises with 5kg dumbells
1.5km on the cross trainer
60 cruches with the girly roll bar
40 bench press with 12.5 kg dumbells
1 mile on the treadmill with 2% incline
75 starjumps
turn purple

Applys to blokes only. Gals don't even bother.

If you can make it to the end be very very proud. Do it twice a week and you'll have 7% body fat (equals a six pack) in 3 months for someone a stone overweight. My best time is 34 mins.
