Asda and Tesco have loads.

Got ours already

Tom said he couldn't see them in Tesco and we don't have many Asdas down here, was there definitely a Barbie one?? I can't have Christmas without my advent calendar

VERY angry over advent calendars this year actually myself, was going to post a topic about them too

Was in Tesco last night and noticed that they are now all called COUNTDOWN CALENDARS   :?

WTF? Apparantly they're not allowed to be called advent calendars anymore as this is related to the nativity/relgion and could upset/offend any non christian/immigrant types

Sorry but if you're going to be offended by our culture then then go and live somewhere else.

I want an ADVENT calendar not a poxy politically correct Countdown calendar

Not sure about Barbie ones but we got my Niece/Nephew Bratz and Scooby Doo. Personally I only like Branded ones like Cadbury/Mars etc coz the choc in the other ones are kack

I've already complained to the manager of the store (well the guy who was in charge at 23@15 last night) and am gonna write to my MP asking for an explanation.

I would like a Countdown Advent Calender featuring (now sadly deceased TV legend Richard Whitely) though.

I consider myself reprimanded for laughing at the loss of our "culture".....

(but can i just thank you for putting the words "young" and "puppygirl" into your reply - that's just made my puppyday!!!!)

Geez... is it THAT important what they call them?

I haven't had an advent calendar since Catholic elementary school, which I left after 1st grade.

I just heard on the radio that the Christmas lights in Lambeth have been re-named "Winter lights" incase they offend anyone from different religions:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/4398680.stm

The local Muslim leader actually called up the radio stations and said how ridiculous it was! He said Muslims have no problem with the being called Christmas lights whatsoever  8O

Politically Correctness gone mad! :x

I'm not buying anymore advert calendar, last march we still got ours in the lounge with just five windows open

Get used to it, people... we live in a wonderful, multicultural world

I've been fasting until dark on weekdays for a month now 8)
(only not for Ramadan... trying to lose a couple kilos  )
