i stepped out with my wife last thursday for a night on the town, well, the village to be exact, as we hit the path to central san jose.
first stop was es galliner, as traditional ibicenco as it gets both in decor and cuisine but with a modern twist. we had a couple of beers and four glasses of wine to accompany a leisurely dinner of warm goats cheese salad, and tapas of curried chicken, octopus fry up, sausages and onions and meatballs in tomato sauce. earlier we'd been given bread, mushroom pate, olives and roast maize to snack on. they gave us whiskey chupitos as i paid the €33 bill.
next we hit raco verd where as usual there was a jazz band on playing to a packed out garden. this trio played classic r'n'b numbers with a wes montgomery style guitar sound driven by a guy wearing crushed velvet flares! well worth the €3.50 we paid for a beer and a tonic.
we then popped round to sit in the garden of can bernat - it's nice to sit and watch everybody chatting in el destino as they dine - and we had a couple of large whiskeys and a cuba libre for only €8!
i just thought i'd post this as an example of how inexpensive ibiza really is as we spent a really enjoyable 4 hours out for less than €45 and came home happy and full.
