A few questions from an Ibiza virgin

:) hey all!

I'm off to ibiza for the first time with one of my clubbing buddies from back home in sunny stoke and was just hoping for some help answering some questions from you guys!

1. I've been given various different stories and opinions about violence over there. Is there any particular bad spots to avoid or is it really all quite chilled out (as far as brawling goes?)

2. Water! Sounds like a profitable buisness in ibiza, don't fancy spendin fifty a night on keeping myself alive so I was wondering, has anybody ever tried water purification tablets on the tap water? I've got some (and although they make the water taste like stale piss) it would save some much needed pennies. But what would the club staff do if: a) they busted you with ten little white pills on you or even worse b) slipping it into ur drink!

Well i've never seen or been in any fights...although i tend to stay away from the west end.

As for the water...i drank it at space last year and survived. Not sure about trying the tablets idea!?

it's been covered recently...

you can buy water purification DROPS in a small bottle which look less suspect.
 
Fights/Water

Hiya. Well I just got back from visiting most spots on the island. Including the West End. As far as fights, I saw none. As a matter of fact...I never felt a threat brewing (surprising as Im from Miami..and I was expecting a few drunken brawls ). I was amazed that throughout my trip I didnt see any police anywhere. Everything and evryone was very chilled.

As far as the water..not sure. The only odd thing I noticed was the salty water ( bath, etc. ) that we had in our hotel room ( Jet Apt ). Not to bad except when brushing my teeth w/ it. Good Luck and have a blast!!!

You should buy bottled water to clean your teeth with. ;)
 
cheers guys! glad bout da whole violence side, nuffin worse than gettin amongst it on the dancefloor wen a fight kiks off.

I got a feelin I myt have 2 risk water pureries - eesh.

One more quick question, and i gotta feelin i kno wat ur all gunna say; me and me m8 are goin wiv club 18-30, do i stick wiv um or naff off. Iv been chekin out da site n got a gud idea wher i wanna go and wen, just a matter of persuading my m8 2 cm, he seems to want to stick with the reps.

Wadaya say? Reps or on our own?

If you intellect matches your grammar, you had best stay with rest of the sheep.
Do your own thing, you are an adult. Don't be brainwashed by jumping on the bandwagon. They're lining their own pockets & upping their stats by fiercely persuading you the join the animal entourage.

I've noticed quite a few people on spotlight using that 'Ali G' Enlish. What's up with that? It seems like it would be a lot of work to think about and to type out... Am I wrong?

I went for the first time last year and, like you had a lot of anticipation and uncertainty going out there for the first time, but seriously water is not a big deal. I partied and other things the whole time and just focused on buying the CHEAP (2 euro in the markets) water on downtime, during the day, etc. You wont have to worry about it too much if your a fit person used to clubbin....As far as reps, I'm from the USA and haven't ever heard of them, but definitely do your own thing. Check out the party calendar and rock out :lol: You MUST do We Love Sundays and Circoloco IMHO....
 
On the first morning of your holiday the reps will keep knocking on your door to make you get up and go to their welcome meeting, just keep saying no at that point, once they get you there it's quite hard to resist the group mentality. Most of the excursions will be crap like bar crawls around the very worst west end bars where you'll be forced to drink shots of cheap peach schnapps and then have to perform your "sexiest" dance to a bunch of fat, sunburnt girls who will give you marks our of ten. Vile....

How do I know? I used to work as a rep in Mallorca - oh, the shame!!!

Only 3 days 'til I'm off to Ibiza - can't wait!!!

I went with Club 18-30 as an 18 year old cos we got a really late deal and it was the cheapest thing going.
Never again.

We were made to feel like outsiders because we wouldn't join them for "Gold" at Summum or whatever the hell it was and instead wanted to go to Godskitchen. Or Cream instaed of their bar crawl. Or Space instead of their garage night.

I can go out on the piss and drink myself into a stupor back in Blighty, but not in Ibiza thanks.

Do your own thing and visit the main clubs on the island....space, manumission, pacha, el divino and if you are a bit younger (which i suspect you are) then why not Eden and Es paradis in San Antonio. they will change your life if you haven't really experienced them before. ;)

The reps will (as people have said) only make you go on pathetic bar crawls which might only be aimed at entertaining 14 year olds...i suspect you want a bit more from your holiday than that!! if you wanted that kind of holiday then you could have gone to Falaraki or magaluf! Also the reps only persuade you so hard to do "their" nights because they get paid commision on them!!! hence the peer pressure they put on you! (the twats!)

(you can always do one night with the reps to placate your friend)
 
Look at the line-ups for each of the clubs. Go to wherever they have someone you would be interested in hearing rather than the sheep mentality of all the 'big' nights.

WTF is GOLD? sounds like an 80s nitemare

1st 2 yrs on Island was with an 18-30ish thing... reps were cool tho and didnt make u do anything u didnt want - was funny how its a small number of peeps in the groups who do EVERYTHING as reps ask of them... even if theyre making a complete tit of themselves...
 
last year went with 18-30's - didnt want to get a package but everyone else
did so had to. for my 180 e (the 1 week package) i got -

booze Cruise - Good laugh - will be doing it this year - normal cost 25 e
Es paradis - de ja vu - love my dnb so great - normal cost 27 e
summun - some rnb hip hop thing - was ok - normal cost 30 e
eden foam party ...... went in , got foamed - woke up in some square on a bench - thats what happens when you go on bar crawl. - normal cost 40 e

2 other 'clubs' looked so crap that we didnt go.

Trust me DO NOT BUY THESE PACKAGES - they do have some decent night cheap but buy the nights you want. I spent 180 e on what should have cost around 80 e.

This year im going to buy only a couple of bits -- you must not follow the sheep !!!!
