not many years ago sundays and WELOVE was something very special -
THE highlight of the "discoweek" for many.

no doubt you can still have a good time -
but with these openingtimes it´s just another ****ing party .
these laws killed it more or less ...
 
Well since the laws change don't think I've ever been to Space on a Sunday too early other than for Space closing, not surprised to hear this news.

On the other hand, what time does it get light in the height of summer in Ibiza? Maybe the terrace will catch some early morning light in late June / early July?
 
I never saw we love opening at 1630 except for opening and closing parties maybe I missed something? Since 2008 it was a night time only event on the days I have been. I was actually gutted as after seeing all the videos of everyone bouncing in the sun light I turned up to find out that we couldnt go in till it was dark anyway. Now I would just save my money as I find the other night time parties more to my taste and will use Sundays to chill.
 
The 4:30 law screwed it all up. That's prime disconap/prepping for the night time. It's either you start at noon or start late. There is no inbetween. That law really screwed up daytime partying, horrible law. There should be exceptions to the law outside the closing/opening parties.
 
There was still a bit of fun to be had on the SST from 6pm onwards when the new opening times came in. Dancing in the daylight, hanging on to the last bastion of the original daytime clubbing experience. A little sad in my opinion, suppose the "5" star hotel with stage in front of Space has had some effect on punters at the earlier times on a Sunday?
 
There wasn't much too it anymore.

I used to pop on for an hour during the day and then come back at about 11 or midnight.

I think they missed a trick by not putting on bigger names during the afternoon.

10 years ago, they had the Def Mix breakfast and the likes of David Morales and Frankie Knuckles would play at midday.

With Ushuaias activity, the daytime would never survive.

Overall I'd be happy enough to go in at about 10pm now for the night. Follows the same format as Cox which works.

Would still like them to do more with the sunset terrace before midnight.
 
So sad but inevitable :-( Feels like they gave up on it since the laws changed daylight clubbing hours. I was a regular for years but gave it a miss last year and saved myself for DC10...

It's ironic seeing as there are now loads of daytime parties springing up...
 
All they had to do was put on bigger names for early sets and they could have got the people through the door in the afternoon. Shame.

plus some other clows who ****ed it all up -
in a rocket to the moon (one-way-ticket) ...
 
I'm so sad about this. I miss daytime clubbing soo much! Like many others have said, sunday's at space, dancing on the terrace from 10am onwards was awesome! It was the highlight of many of our clubbing weeks, didn't matter how tired we were from the night before. There is nothing like dancing in the sunshine - smiling and happy!

Problem for me personally is, I can't take the night-time pace anymore. I want to sleep by midnight! So an 8pm start is a real bummer for me. Went last year at 5pm, but it was dead till 8 anyway.....I can understand a later start, but that means the true essence of what space was has finally been lost. (IMAO) :(:cry:
 
I think this time will work well. Most people now get there for the last two hours on the Terrace 10-Midnight. Yes I know it's not like the old days, but can still be pretty damn good with the right DJ.

The key to the 8PM I think is what are are Ushuaia planning? There have been rumours of Defected moving to Sundays, so this could also be a factor in the change.

It will be surreal from mid-September that We Love won't be open until AFTER dark! Now that is the end of an era.....

I don't see the point in opening at 8 why hang on to that last shred of what once was. The last glimmer of daylight will be enjoyed by the 7 peed off old timers who have arrived first and are now waiting for the rest of the crowds to arrive.
