There might be a festival next year, which would be amazing. Every city in the world has got a major music festival except for the most famous place in the world for music, which is Ibiza. A proper 3-day festival, a la Creamfields or Glastonbury, if that comes off that'll be the biggest news for next year.

Could be good, not sure where they would hold it though? Would they have camping?
 
It would have to start at 4:30pm end at midnight in accordance with Ibiza's no music outdoors policy, would never work.

The tents would have to be soundproofed so you can't hear the music from outside them, same way all the bars have to close their doors at midnight, so the music can't be heard form outside them. Not plausible I don't think!
 
The beach party at Dr Flemings went on well into the morning. They can get a licence for one off specials.
 
Can`t see this happening..festival are on the slide the last few years..It would be a load of cock.Just what ibiza needs more people pissing in bushes..
 
i went to the MTV festival outside of San An in 1999.... no idea if the sound laws have changed since then but that party def went until easily 2 or 4am, maybe later... and it was a proper festival. I remember getting interview by MTV on my way out of the event.... always wondered if that aired on TV :)

and maybe in some areas festivals are on the decline but in the US they are exploding in attendance #s.

Pretty sure someone told me they moved it to Privilege in 2001 after complaints from nearby residents.

i believe they were going to do a big 2-day event and at the last minute the main government person either pulled the permit that was issued or would not issue the permit for it to take place so it had to be moved.

i'm sure if someone is planning a big festival they would make sure its all permitted well in advance.... i'm sure something this big would also make the newspapers during the planning process so someone here will post info about it.
 
A 2-3 day festival could work with it ending at 12 and then afterparties at all the clubs. It would be good for the island and imagine the quality and competitiveness of the afterparty lineups for those couple of days
 
Well almost everywhere else has a Creamfields these days so why not Ibiza ? Outdoor festivals on the coast happen in plenty of other countries ... and there's loads of accommodation in Ibiza so people wouldn't have to camp. Just let people come and go and lay on regular free buses. The administration needs to think about mechanisms for granting one-off concessions for this sort of thing. Plenty of other places in the world manage to make these things work.

Just think they should keep the capacity manageable and schedule it in mid-July, just before the English schools break up, rather than in already saturated peak season when flights are packed out and hotels at capacity.

I can see this happening. They will be wanting to take the shine off Hideout festival Pag. ;)

First lineups due out in a day or so ... just wish these festivals would ease up on the Annie Mac bregade .... or just give us one seaside festival that's proper unadulterated Underground techno/tech-house/decent deep house and prog. That's easily enought genre variation to stretch my musical leanings in all directions. Is it too much to ask ? !!!

Creamfields Andalucia is mint kimjy... really, you should come along next summer... ok, the only downer is its in Jerez in August... which is SO HOT...But at night... its bliss... goes on from about 9pm until 8am the next day... and the line ups are normally a mix of techno, trance and then some obvious like... prodigy...

so good... and minus some of the morons you get at UK festivals...
 
I'll certainly think about it - thanks ! Close enough to the sea too 8). Really don't mind 40 degrees as long as I can hit the water nearby :!: Based on what they've put out, Hideout has ... NOT ... been booked :lol:.
 
a little birdie tells me it will be a 3-day festival in july and held in san antonio :!:

too early to reveal more.....
