2013 closing parties

Can't wait to get out there now, 2 weeks to go. It's not the closings proper, but in 3 nights we'll fit in Defected Closing, We Love Closing, Circo Loco and Cocoon Closing.

Was just a last minute thing, a week in early October needs a lot more planning ahead than that.
 
There the first few days in October for Closing, seriously can't wait.

2nd - Sirocco, then Ibiza Underground
3rd - Sankeys
4th - Ocean Beach followed by Insane @ Pacha (VIP)
5th - Amnesia (Possibly Ushuaia before)
6th - Bora Bora, then Space

Really looking forward to the Pacha/Insane Closing as much as any! Have been quite a few times this season, but never with Digweed, Kalkbrenner and Sneak B2B Carter B2B Farina! That is an INSANE line-up....
 
The closings nights am lookin at are Flower Power, Wisdom of the Glove, Kehakuma and Supermartx. Anybody kno how these parties have been? Any to dodge or make a priority?

I like your mix! Flower is obviously 60s stuff, but a great party by all accounts. SuperMartz is all about the show and party. Don't expect ground breaking music.

Wisdom and Kehakuma are good choices!

Wisdom has been amazing if you like it deep and dark! Magda there that night too, so should be amazing. Kehakuma Closing is Thursday, as opposed to the usual Saturday, but again I'm sure will be amazing. DVS1 is playing and you can't get much deeper.

Thanks man. Wasn't sure what to expect going in Oct but theres so much to look forward too. Want to do it all and then some. I'll need a holiday after the holiday.

Leaving Sat....nooo!! Mates staying for the usual mayhem of Amnesia, Space & DC10. BRING IT!

anyone have any good recommendations for any other events, must do- all three mates never been to IBZ

Your line-up is perfect in my view.... the exact nights I would / will be doing....
 
Saturday 28th Sept: Defected closing at Booom! I really like MK and Eats Everything.

Sunday: Blue Marlin during the day to recharge. Then a few possibilities on the night. We Love/Cadenza/Ushuaia Tower/Viva Warriors

Monday: Circo Loco, probably gonna skip cocoon this year and just stay at DC10 a bit longer.

Tuesday: Cocoon after party at La Sal Ross. Really enjoyed this last year, more so than Cocoon closing itself!

Wednesday: WOTG closing at Pacha. Really like the sound of this one and looking forward to seeing dOP do a live set!

Thursday: Our last night so probably a nice meal somewhere and try and have an early night!

Friday: Fly home.... Let the Ibiza blues kick in!
 
^^ I think Defected is going to be brilliant. Was at the opening with Eats Everything and Derrick Carter at Sankeys which was ace despite the technical issues. It wasn't really the usual 'defected sound' but that's fine with me. The closing lineup is massive. Eats and MK as you said, Tensnake and Noir I'm keen to see too, I guess Nick Curly will have the opening slot, and Simon Dunmore has even out himself on the lineup now as well. It'll be our first night and I'm sure it'll be a big one.

We're also doing We Love, Circo Loco, probably Cocoon. Then I'm meant to be flying home at 2pm on the Tuesday, but have booked a really awful but REALLY cheap emergency flight for the Friday afternoon, just in case I can't drag myself away. Really want to go to Cocoon afters at Sal Rossa, and Fuse Closing would be a good one on the Wednesday!

As great as that mix compilation is - I love it, had it on today at work myself - it's not a good indication as to what you would hear at a Defected night.
 
Yeah I've got the Dice album too. For me Defected has always been bouncey, melodic house, lots of vocals etc. I've listened to their Ibiza 2013 compilation and Ibiza closing parties albums which are very much the same. I caught up on the last few podcasts too which all pretty much stand by that. It all feels a lot more commercial than what I heard at the opening party, and I expect it'll be similar next weekend. Which is good in my opinion.
 
That Loco Dice effort just seems like a bit of a stunt to use the Defected label to sell albums. And it seems to have worked. I was intrigued so I bought it, and I've talked to a lot of people who did too.
 
The Loco Dice CD is class. Defected isn't normally my cup of tea but to be fair it sounds nothing like Defected anyway.

I always associate Defected with vocal house as some one mentioned earlier but with people like Nick Curly and Eats Everything playing at their parties it seems they are branching out.
